I've gone over to the "Dark Side"

I retired from the Police force. I got a job as a School teacher. It snowed. They told us all to go home.(What a concept!) My tax return came in the same day. I got in my Jeep. I was compelled by some uncontrolable force to drive to my favorite watch store. I stood there unable to control my urges and...I bought this! Snow days....Cool!

A thing of beauty...Love the minimalist approach...

I think I am going to have to have the second hand...but I sure debated about it for a while!

welcome to the "Zero Hero" club mate.
Great pick up! Did you know you were wanting a 000 before you got there?

How's the shopping for the straps going ;-)

You guys sure know how to make a fella feel good! Thank you all! Eric, How did you know I was strap shopping? Have you installed spyware on my computer? I had a heck of a time picking this out from the selection. I chose a watch with no seconds so that I don't drive myself crazy saying" Well..it lost 3 seconds in 24 hours. I'll have to check again tomorrow" I didn't want a date because I don't want to have to set it if I haven't worn the watch for awhile, although I don't think that will be a problem!
I've been following Bill's quest for a Panerai and many advised him to get a zero. Since I was in the same position I let Bill do all the work! Thanks Bill! I guess I am the newest "Zero Hero" Thanks for that term Eric. It sure is nice to have folks to share the joy with. Thanks again!

Thanks again for the good wishes. Esexx, from what I hear Torrence is no joke. Just remember every day that passes is one day closer. Don't let them get you down and do the job the way YOU think it should be done. Mike I retired from the City of Newburgh Police Department about 60 miles north of NYC. If you want a chuckle check the per capita crime for that city. Thanks again for the good wishes everyone. It's nice to meet you all. I am fascinated that I am wished well from friends worldwide. Indonesia, Dubai, Austraila, Holland, Scotland,Costa Rica,England and of course my countryman in the U.S. This is amazing!

nahaha.... No spyware here mate. Just know the feeling, at least you got the watch first (im kiddind Bill......!)

"Hero Zero" was the term used at the panersti.com forum and thought it was cool.

I got my 000 the day before the V day and loved it. I think i was lucky to bump into one cos i have decided that i want a simple dial and a logo on it.... So that has to be the 000.

My strap changing/shopping started straight away - i was able to swap the oem calf leather with an oem black croc free of charge and ordered 2 custom handmade straps 3 days later..... Should have them this time next week! Cant wait.

Anyway, enjoy the 000 and look forward to seeing more pix and hearing your strap shopping experience (you are lucky.... Greg - Mosco has a new range of straps available, check them out also!)

You left the blue line to teach? Don't they have clocks on the walls at most schools?

Just kidding! Nice watch!

Congratulations from a fellow Zero owner. I've got mine on OEM croc strap now - which tends to really dress up the watch and add more presence. Have fun on the strap hunt. Its really like a buying a wardrobe of clothes for your watch!

Paul, I left the thin blue line because it was getting thick, wiggly and blury. Besides they pay me not to go to work! bcacncnc, That's a cool thought, "a wardrobe of clothes for your watch!" I think the "Darkside" is going to be lot's of fun! You guys are really giving me a great perspective about being a Panerai owner and I am loving the friendship. Thanks to all!
