what size strap do i need for a 40mm pam

today I recieve my 40mm pam00126 power reserve on metal bracelet. I have been lookin at the strap market and wow im confused. Deployment vs buckle....24 vs 22mm. so many choices. so my question is, what should i look for as far as size for a 40mm pam and whats the diff between deployment and buckle. I have 5 rolexes and this is my first pam. oh yeah whats the deal with the power reserve model, is it considered a pretty good model by paneristi standards...ive heard a few dif. comments. thanks guys.

I thought the 24mm was for 44mm and 22mm for 40mm--better double check though--try google!!! Best and enjoy your new Panerai!!

you need a 22mm at the lugs. You could do 23mm and it will fit.

A strap designed for a deployant (not deployment) is much thinner at the tail end of the strap so it can fit the deployant. A strap designed for a buckle is usually the same thickness all the way through. It looks much better for a buckle this way.

Often, you'll see straps described like this

24x24 135x75 5mm thick
This is a strap that is 24mm at the lugs and 24mm at the tail (aka no taper)
The tail side of the strap (the side with the holes) is 135mm long
The buckle side of the strap (the side with the buckle) is 75mm long
5mm thick is just that. The strap is 5mm thick the entire way through, so it is for a buckle. They will tell you if the strap was made for a deployant.

You can see weird stuff to. I have the following
25x26 140-80 5mm
It is 25mm at the lugs and expands to 26mm

Most times you'll see it the opposite
22x20mm 115-75 deployant.
I think this is the standard size for Panerai 40mm luminors, but I'm not 100% sure.

Hope this helps.

if it's a standard luminor, then most definately 22 x 20. deployents need a bigger gap.
