Rolex sub green bezel question

How do I know if is an original 50th anniversary one with the green bezel. One can easily change it to a green bezel ---is there a special markings or serial number?

The dial is different. Search for pictures of what is called the "maxi" dial. The markers are larger

Reference number, located on the case between the lugs on the 12 o'clock side, should say 16610LV. Also, the dial markers and hands will be "maxi" or larger than on the regular 16610.

If there are papers I believe they have 16610LV for the model number - versus just 16610.

None of these are much more than a few years old...you ought to be able to get papers or the warrantee card.

Maxi-dial and minute hand. It would be fairly cost prohibitive to replace the dial/hands on a regular sub, to make it into an "LV". Much easier to just get an LV.

There are no special markings or serial numbers on the Sub Date LV..... It has 16610 T between the lugs just like any other Sub Date (the T means it has a non-through hole lug case)

The LV is just an insert and dial option, so that is the only thing different...the green insert and "maxi" dial and hands..

It is possible that if this model ever became a "valuable exotic", such as a red Sub, which I find unlikely, it could be very easily faked and would probably need the original paperwork to know for sure..

As far as "original 50th Anniversary".. this is marketing only.. Rolex never released this model as a "50th Anniversary" only model...
