GMT II TT VS New SUB TT

Hi all, I'm new member and pleases to join TRF.
I can't wait the new SS Sub Ceramic and deciding to buy TT.
buying TT, I also thought of GMT II TT as well, as it looks so beautiful too.
I'm in Bangkok, what is your thought?

Both watches are just beautiful in TT. Comes down to what you like. With the Sub you get the option of blue as well.

do you like 24H bezel and GMT? if, yes go for GMT.

do you dive, more than fly? if yes, go toward SUB.

TT is better on GMT, IMO, than on Sub. Not a huge difference, though.

I prefer the complication of the 24 hr. hand on the GMT.

Both are very nice--tough choice! I would have to say TT Sub though.

I was faced with the same decision and went for the Sub. The deciding factor for me was that the Sub comes with the new Glidelock clasp so you can micro-adjust the bracelet to fit your wrist in hot/cold weather.

PS The Sub's Glidelock isn't identical to the Deepsea's. The one on the Deepsea can be adjusted while the watch is on the wrist, whereas with the Sub, you have to take the watch off before lengthening or shortening.

I made the 16610 TO> 16613-LN when I turned
42 years old, and my sideburns turned a bit gray!
Think (just my opinion) gold requires a bit more mileage
on the part of the wearer to fit properly.
As far as GMT vs. SUB: Already was a SUB owner for
more than a decade!

I used to have the 2-tone GMTII (116713)...traded in for one of the 2-tone Subs (116613) and never looked back!

In all gold, thats another story though....GMTII (116718) wins hands down....

but if you plan to go diving to deeper depths, then i guess the sub wins...

however, i prefer the bluesy / smurfy sub than the TT GMTIIc...

As stated, if function is a consideration then go with the one needed more. If looks are the deciding factor keep in mind if you want a blue dial the decision is over.

The type of clasp, as stated, might enter into the mix. I'm not sure here. Both have their champions.

TT GMT-c looks so ugly to me for the following reasons

black-gold combo
green lettering and hand
huge bezel numbers

Ceramic bluesy and classic bluesy are killers

I think the Blue TT Sub is the most beautiful watch Rolex (or anyone else) makes. That being said, I now have GMT fever. If they came out with a TT Blue GMT I would be all over it. Now I am hunting for a Pepsi to add to a family.

I currently have a black TT sub and used to own a TT GMTIIC.

For me the winner by a million miles is the TT sub. The numbers on the GMT BEZEL are just too big. The sub has a much cleaner look and as mentioned before the clasp on the sub has glidelock adjustment allowing the perfect fit!!

Mmm, I gotta respectively disagree. I like the GMT bezel layout better, I like the big numbers too.

I agree with you totally on this one Mike and your pictures only re-inforce my decision!

I've seen both the GMT IIc TT and the TT Submariner in the flesh and the Submariner just ticks all the right boxes for me over the TT GMT!

I faced the same exact choice and I opted for the TT Ceramic Sub for the following reasons listed in order of priority for me: glidelock clasp on the Sub, preference for the appearance of the Sub bezel over the GMT ceramic bezel and the choice of the blue dial/blue bezel on the Sub.

While the GMT ceramic is certaintly a desirable piece, I'm very happy with my choice of the TT ceramic Sub!

Sub because of the different glide lock clasp. The 24 hour bezel was too much for me.

That's a tough one. IMO get the TT GMT2c and SS SUBc later.
