no etch on SUb
hi, recently got a new sub w/date V-series from an AD in my country, however, i notice mine does not have the rolex etched on the sapphire glass at 6pm.
read some posts saying after 2004, most rolex comes with e etch, some don't, do not know if the sub come with it. |

It should be there. These micro- etchings are so hard to find, my best advice is go out to natural light, where it's a lot easier to see the etching.

It's there, take it outside with a loop and move it around. It's just tough to find.

Took me a while 2 find mine .... You can try a laser pointer at a shallow angle ... Eventually it will jump right at you

BRIGHT light, especially natural light is the key to finding the etched crown.

The quickest way for me to find it on my Sub date is to shine a torch across the crystal at a slight angle, it then appears.

Put it under a bright light while moving the watch in different angles....you'll see it.

It will be there
Hold it under a halogen spot "downlighter" shining from 12 down towards 6, with the watch facing you, very close to the surface of the spot light, move the watch through the beam of light forwards and backwards.....the LEC will jump out at some point like this...service crystal on my Explorer II

The pictures here really are misleading IMHO, the LEC is VERY hard to find and just because we have some fantastic photographers on this board doesn't mean its visible to the naked eye. You really have to manipulate the light, the angle and the magnification just right to be able to see it
