Why the move to Green?

So in the last few years Rolex have gone all Green on us.

First the LV bezel, then the GMTIIc hand and dial print, then the Milgauss crystal, now a whole pukey Green new Sub.

Why the sudden fascination with the colour? Never used by the company before the LV i don't think was it? Or if it was is was on very limited, rare old pieces i can't remember or have never even seen.

Green signifies the 50th anniversary of any model....the Daytona will be next to get the treatment (probably)

Green is Rolex's company colour. To me it's logical to put some green on the dial or bezel, and I like how they added a touch of green on the GMT IIC and a bit more green on the now old Sub LV. But IMHO it is too much on the new Sub LV.

I feel certain if you asked him, the answer would be "Yes!" ... idiot

That's cleared that up then. Company colour. The answer was staring me in the face! Looks good on GMTIIc but not on any of the other applications imo. A little but goes a long way but a little bit too much is too easy to get to it seems.

Seemns odd that they left it off watches for 90 odd years then decided to use it though.

Edit - It's pretty obvious actually why they didn't use Green on watches for 90 odd years - it just doesn't look very good.
