Waterman Edson
Hey all,
Has anyone had any experience with this collection? I was reading about it at Glenns's Pens and it is a real stunner in pics, in sapphire blue especially. If anyone has used one and can share their experiences, that'd be great. This pic is complements of FPH. |

I think it is safe to say that these are his favorite pens of all of the ones he has.. And he has some very fine pens! They get daily use and I have written with his and they have stunning nibs! The broad lays down a nice wet juicy line and is as smooth as silk but still has feel when writing. They are heavier pens as they are of metal construction and the lacquer has a translucence that allows the metal underneath to show through giving an almost holographic effect. They are one of the best pens I have written with and I know I shall have one one day. Supurbe build quality as well! All three colours are beautiful but the blue especially so, it is like looking at a deep blue sapphire! Hope that helps! |

I hadn't realized the depth of the FP community, and there's a lot of enthusiasts out there, and that's good to see. The Edson's are spectacular and I'll be nabbing one at some point. Thanks for the input! ![]() |

I owned one in sapphire blue, but it was a very heavy pen and not comfortable in the pocket.
Not to mention it was like writing with a nail!!! Absolutely GORGEOUS PEN, but sold it a week later.

I've seen the Edson in shops, but I've never written with one. I had a bit of experience with inlaid-nib fountain pens (that's what that style is called), and in my experience, they write very well.

Several reviews mention the same things, both the inflexibilty of the nib and the weight, but also mention the pen writes very smoothly. I probably should try one before buying. Thanks for the input. ![]() |

I'm a proud owner of the complete line of sapphire Edsons. Pountain pen; ball point & pencil. Ian's review of the fountain pen is on the spot; as is also the critique regarding its weight. Be aware that another great feuature of the edson is that it never leaks. You can safely put in your pocket without ever having to worry about stains. Besides the pen is a teriffic match for the gold/ tt rolex sub with a blue dail/ bezel.

Hi John, don't personally know much about the Waterman Edson ...... except to say that it is a real stunning fountain pen!
![]() Saw one in a Joon's Pen catalog ...... Joon is in New York City ..... I have purchased from them in the past ..... they are a reputable dealer. ![]()
