Squeaky Bracelet!!
Hi Everyone.
Been lurking for a while but this is my first post on here! Got my DSSD last week (at long last) and must say it is an amazing piece. I love it (can't keep my eyes off it) although there is something that's bugging me. When I move my wrist the bracelet squeaks like mad (It sounds like I've got a mouse stuck up my sleeve!) Anyone else got/had this problem? It's not a biggy but it's starting to get on my nerves now! Thanks in advance to any replies |

It might be that the links need a little lubrication, or that the endlinks need adjustment. Neither are big issues to fix, just take it to a trusted jeweller and they should sort it out in 5 minutes (or less).

Hop in the shower (yes, the DSSD can take it!) and soap up, rinse, repeat. Squeak will be gone!

Arrived here after googling "Squeaky Rolex Bracelet" and glad to see that I'm not alone in receiving a pet mouse with DSSD! Squeaks like mad.
Took it back to my AD who said "our watch technician is on holiday, bring it back in 2 weeks!" Great service. Are you sure the DSSD will survive a splash in the shower I'm guessing 90% of them won't even be subjected to that level of soaking. OK, I'll take mine into the shower and see how it fares, but starting to think I'll miss my mouse when it dies. Thanks for the pointers. |

Took it for a 30 minute swim yesterday in the pool, still squeaking! In fact I think it's got worse.
Actually it's starting to annoy me now! I expect better from Rolex. This simply should not happen |

No problem. It stops after a couple of weeks...

My serti Sub did that when new. It eventually went away. I noticed it in the car when driving and was kinda embarrassed my expensive Rolex sounded like a dash squeak.

Loctite can do this also, there is less tolerance in the links and bind much easier causing a squeak

I had the same issue with my Milgauss GV. My AD tried to clean it as well with ultrasonic cleaner and it did not work. I sent it back to RSC and don't know what they did but never had the noise again.

Somewhere at RSC there's probably an office cat with several Oysters attached to it de-squeaking the bracelets while it chases a laser pointer.

This is a popular topic and is a characteristic of new Rolex watches.
Read all about it here, unveiled via super secret advanced search methodology available for free. I'm happy to report that my 3+ month old Sub-C bracelet is no longer squeaking and it required no special treatment. |

I understand from above what needs to be done to make the squeak disappear, I just think it should NOT happen in the first place - poor! Picture the scene. You pick up your new Bentley from the garage. You're driving along the first mile and you notice and incredibly annoying squeak from the dashboard. You are then told "Ahh, a lot of them do that! When you get home give you dashboard a good wash with soap and water! Oh, and if that doesn't fix it, it should disappear in a couple of months anyway. Happy Driving!" I think not. There's enough comments on various threads about squeaky bracelets to see this isn't an isolated incident and Rolex really should do something about it. |

I just picked up my brand new rolex 116000 on Saturday and noticed that the bracelet was kind of squeaky. I'm not new to higher end watches but I am new to Rolex and I have never had a squeaky bracelet before. It's actually quite disconcerting. I'm glad this forum is here and I do feel better that I am not alone and this happens to be just a Rolex "thing". Whew!!

Well I am the odd ball here because I love the squeaky Rolex bracelet... This simply means you have a BRAND SPANKING NEW ROLEX on your wrist It is like the new car smell, once is is gone it is VERY EXPENSIVE to get back
Wear and Enjoy your watch in good health as everyone has mentioned it will go away in time with wear

The natural oils from your skin will lubricate the band in time.

Calgon Bath - Take me away! Take a bath with your Rolex on. It will help relax you and may help out with the bracelet noise. Rolex bracelets are made with extreme close tolerances.

Soap and warm water worked for me. Most of the squeaks went away by that bath, and the rest (really quiet squeaking) is getting less and less noticable every day I wear the watch.

sorry to bring back a dead post but i've had my 16710 D (NOS) since June and wash the bracelet with soap and warm water about every 10 days, still squeaky... I feel like one of the posts above about the springbars needing lube actually makes sense although there should be not be enough movement between the endlink and the case to twist the bar enough to squeak. I guess i'll just bring into my AD

The more you wear it, the quicker the noise will go away
