Field Trip Today

I went to Templo Panerai today. The staff couldn't have been nicer! I took lots of bad i phone pics most of which didn't come out so good. I have to say if you ever get the chance, go visit. The staff is terrific!

It's a ships chronometer. A very important piece of navigation equipment if you use a sextant to navigate.

My pleasure! I enjoy the pics others post. As much as the watches, I enjoy pics from around the U.S. and other parts of the world. We really have a great group of members here.

No. Maybe next year. One nice watch a year. I wanted to go, look and take some photos for my friends on the panerai forum.

I read it somewhere that a Panerai funded ship restoration will have one of those navigation clocks.

I called by a month or so ago and received a warm welcome. Stock seemed to be a bit low but the staff were knowledgible and friendly.

I have to admit Ocwatching, the thought has crossed my mind. One of my close friends is leaving tomorrow for Sicily. I had the chance to go but I stayed home. If he had been going anywhere near Florence I'd have been on my way!

They seemed to have lots of stock when I was there. One guy was doing a strap inventory and the girl was doing some paperwork for some inventory. It looked as if they were pretty busy. I have more photos of all of the watches they had on display but they look like straps with a lightbulb in the middle. Here's some more of what I took. I guess two of the three aren't too bad. I did all of them with my i phone.
