Exemplary Pen Dealer

I just purchased my Mozart at an incredible price. Upon receipt, I phoned the store and asked about replacing the F nib with an X-fine, and the owner said, he didn't want me to be unhappy, so he stated I could return it or if I chose to keep it, he would deduct an extra 20% off of an already excellent price. I kept the pen, he credited my mastercard with the 20% and was extremely pleasant. There are a number of MBs currently on his web site, and if anyone is interested, send me a PM and I will furnish you the contact information.

Faith, show me some of your writings I would enjoy seeing them. My grandfather wrote in some old English script which was awsome (b1889-d1976). I would love to learn to write like him. I have some papers from him and it looks like something out of a Shakespeare book.

Faith, it sounds like you found a great dealer and that was nice of him to further reduce the cost of your fountain pen!!!

Hey David, Happy Easter! Some of my writing appears in the thread "Giveaway 4 of 7; Luxury Pen Rests" thread, although the samples were generated using a MB RB, not a FP. I would love to see your grandfather's old English script. Could you possibly get us a sample and post it? Faith

It's always nice to find a good dealer, whatever the product. Are you going to get the X-fine nib, Faith?

Excellent Faith. I am so glad this fellow turned out to be a diamond, knowing about the transaction to get another 20% off was an incredible thing!

If you read my comment about your comment on your nib in another thread you will see a link to the MB website FAQ I have no doubt that you will get your nib exchanged at not cost to you and only the loss of it for a few weeks to Mont Blanc service center. They allow nib exchange as long as the nib is OK for up to six months. I would use that service if I were you!

Hi David. I tried to send you a PM but for some reason it does not work so I will put the links on this thread as it may also be of interest to other folks.

These are a couple of youtube videos of how to write like you mentioned, the most important thing is to use a very flexible nib and the best way to get that is to get a vintage pen, the older (pre 1930's) Watermans had many of such nibs.

Here are the videos!

My PM on TRF does not work. Please use the one on my signature.

Thanks for the links, I am most grateful for the time invested.

You aren't kidding! I ended up getting a brand new Mozart for literally 50% off the retail. The owner is a real gentleman and I will definitely be returning since such good prices combined with such excellent service is a rare find indeed! (I am getting accustomed to this point and am not sure if it's worth the trouble to send it in. I'll take a little more time to see . . . )

Faith, it is because you are cute, if a guy goes into the shop he would be charged full price.

My appearance had no bearing on the transaction since it took place online. You know what this means, Bones? It means even you will get a fair shake.
