Looking for Explorer II pics

I was wondering if anyone with an Explorer II with white dial has changed the black hands to the chrome hands found on the black dial? If so, pics? I like the white dialed best, but don't like the black hands all that much and was considering whether it would be worth changing the hands over...

Almost anything

I'd almost do anything to have a mint 16550 white dial with matching hands to put on my 16570.

Never seen that combo before but it sounds interesting. Even if someone hasn't done it for real I am sure a photoshop wizard here on TRF can whip one up!

If you want to see some pics here is a link to my recent thread:

I don't have a picture off hand..

Those are white gold hands on the black dial, and not chrome..

When the White Dial Explorer II first came out it did not have painted hands, so you could likely google the early models and find plenty of photos....

To be honest i actually like the black hands on the white dial. They really "pop".Not sure if the WG hands would do the same....One of the reasons im not a big fan of the White Dial Daytona. Too hard to see the shiny hands in bright light

I see what you saying...I am sure the contrasts helps to see the hands, but I think the black paint makes them look "cheap"....this is why I was thinking the white gold hands would look better....pics would be nice to see if they are hard to see because of the contrast, or look better....I didn't know that early models didn't have the black hands. Ill look for pics of these early models.
