GIVEAWAY 7 of 7; Luxury pen rest - FINAL giveaway!

Congrats to Kyle - kyle L, winner of the sixth Oriental pen rug for best creative photo of pen and Rolex! Thank you everyone for participating.

For final GIVEAWAY #7:

Where do you write? Sometimes to clear that writer's block, you just have to be in the right place - for me it can be as simple as the backyard watching my children play. Ian has that fantastic mountain range to look at, Vitix (in the Dominican) has some nice tropical scenes I'm sure. Where's that special spot and why is it special to you?

Two week run, so plenty of time to get creative: Giveaway closes at 7pm Eastern U. S. A. time on Sunday, April 25, 2010.

Best picture of writing place with story of how it clears writer's block for you wins the Balouchi pen rug from Pakistan as pictured below:

Giveaway open to current Pledge Members Worldwide. Shipping will be covered. Winner of this last of seven will receive a PM from me to request their shipping address.

Thanks for making the pen sub-forum a great place to meet!

Chris - Numismatist

Thank you so much again Chris. You look so peaceful there writing with your Daughter in the background playing. A lovely scene and of course you happen to live in the beautiful State of Maine, home of Hawkeye Pierce!!

Good luck everyone, I'm afraid my writing environment is none too exciting since predictably, I sit at my desk. I'm sure they'll be some wonderful entries replete with a nice background such as the one Chris is in. Chris, thanks again for these wonderful competitions which have added even additional interest and excitement to the pen subforum.

Your picture is so good, you may just have to present yourself with the winning pen rest on April 25th.

That IS your second language!

Mostly it's a fun contest to try and connect people's faces to their posts so we can all see who we all are in real life!

One week to go...

One lonely pen rug in need of a pen...

Let's see a pix of you writing in your favorite place. A fun thread to connect posts to faces. Don't be shy!

My writing spot is on my deck under my favorite poplar trees. My house is on a lake so there is always some wildlife to watch and something interesting to write about.

The hummingbirds were finally back from their long trip South today.

My own personal Walden.

Phillip, you really do have your own version of Walden there. Have you ever been tempted to build a little wooden cabin down by the water to sit and write and contemplate?
Such a beautiful place to live, well done you for making the choice to live there

Phillip, thank you and yes Koi is very relaxing.

You have one huge pond in your backyard.
Very beautiful scenery.

Do you do any fishing or boating ?
Perhaps lake diving ?

Thanks Joji. The lake is 500 acres at 900 foot above sea level in elevation. One of the highest lakes of its size in the Southeast.

The water is deep and clear and is home to almost every species of game fish in Alabama.

There are only about 400 people in the town so it is a nice quiet place to live. I have more boats go by my house than cars so I thought that would make a suitable place to live.

I had wanted a Koi pond but we have a lot of Blue Herons that live on the lake so they would eat my Koi like popcorn.

not my photo just one I found.

Phillip, could you build a pond and then put a screen over the top to keep the birds from fishing.....

I guess I could Leo. I need to search around and see if anyone has come up with any solutions. Maybe a no fishing sign. Not sure the Herons would understand the joke but they would be nice and fat and healthy.

Phillip, now I know where to go for vacation in Alabama.

Very ideal environment for raising children (I do remember you mentioning of your children in other post.).
VERY NICE!
