Want to take the plunge.

Hello everyone,

I know it has probably been posted a thousand times but i have started researching my first purchase of a Rolex. I want the Submariner 16610, im having i guess could be called the "normal" doubts and trying to weigh my options. I have been looking on ebay and have found a few i like, but still very close to the 4k range, i was hoping to find a little cheaper but this is my first Rolex so that may just be wishful thinking!

Hoping to find plenty of information on this site!

Remember most times you pay for what you get.
A cheaper one might need a service or have some other issues.
Be careful and deal with a reliable seller.

Welcome to TRF! Spending some time reviewing the for sale section and reading the Who's Who will give you a handle on who the trusted sellers are and the cost range. Good luck!

Welcome - there seems to be a lot of folks that monitor the e-bay sales through the watch out section. Probably good to see what they have to say in there in case one you are watching turns up there as a fake.

Kia ora and welcome to the forum. I know what you were feeling. I almost didn't buy my Sub because of doubts over the price, but the voice of wisdom stepped in (my wife) and reminded me that I'd always wanted it and no matter what I got I would still be lusting after it, so I got it. As I was taking a trip overseas, I got it through an AD with the duty free discounts, which made it a lot easier to swallow. I think as Steve mentions below, that you pay for what you get. I'm not a flipper of watches and since this was my first decent watch, I wanted it new. I'm glad you finally pulled the trigger. You'll love it once it arrives. Remember, the quality remains long after the price is forgotten
