Hi Alexander,
Welcome to TRF. If those babies are comparable to top German cars, then I guess a Tissot could be compared to a Lada!! Sports Rollies are by and large very popular the world over. The DJs still remain the number one seller in the Rolex range as well as in terms of popularity world wide. Most of us who have larger wrists do find the 36 mm DJs a bit small as compared with the more suitable 40 mm of the sports range. Cheers - JJ

Well again Tissot was and still is, a very respectable brand and had a great reputation in watchmaking. And won several prizes and received several innovations in the past watch industry.Quite a old company started around 1853, and again have scored several world firsts like first anti-magnetic watch. And today make High-quality watches at quite attractive prices. And time and promote several sports like many others today.Tissot today is still one of the leading brands in the now huge Swatch Group. And IMO are starting to produce some fine looking watches at very good prices.

If Seiko is a Honda, I would say Tissot is a Toyota or maybe Nissan.
correct me if I'm wrong, but Tissot was a part of Omega at one point. |

I've had Toyotas and Nissans and didn't have a lick of a problem with either. I drove my '93 Toyota for 10 yrs and put over 100k on it before getting rid of it because the body was rotting off. The only reason I don't have one now is because they're just too damned expensive.

i think the tissots are excellent value for money - you can get an automatic with sapphire crystal (swiss watch) for very reasonable money
they also tend to have a wide selection their new ranges - the retro automatic watches are really cool http://www.tissot.ch/?mod_collection...002/famid_0058 another collection that provdes good value for money - swiss automatics is Oris .. both these -tissot and oris are in my opinion highly underrated the V8 you got is a big/imposing watch and will stand out ! |

Welcome. I almost bought a touch bezel activated Tissot watch for fun. Thought it would be interesting to try out. But in the end did not. Cheers, Steve-O ps please try to type out completely and spell check what you are saying. Your shorthand is killing me...

Mr Abo... if you're ever in the mood for watch spotting, hang around at the coffee shops in the Emporium, fortitude valley, or James St...also in the valley. Last week, I saw, at least - YG DD, DJ x 2, Sub date x 3, sub no date x 2, and what looked like a 5513 with nicely aged markers.

Tissot would be Ford. Excellent engineering (UK cars, at least) for the money.
I agree with Steve-O about the spelling though many apologies if you have acute dyslexia.

I agree. I've had Tissot's and yes...I even currently own a vintage RADO Companion 3 (sorry JJ) and it's a great watch. You could not kill it if you wanted to. It looks nothing like a typical RADO though.
