i have a DSSD and thinking of getting the SD 16600 to make it 2 SDs. is it a wise decision to have the same model in one's collection?
Or just go for the current Submariner and not to wait for the new model?

What the heck, why not? Wearing a 16600 as I write this, and waiting on my DSSD to arrive tomorrow AM. I also have a 14060, and on the prowl for a 16610. Why not collect the different models from the diving line? Heck, I sold my PAM's to finance this endeavor.

I'm not sure they're that close together. I think there's more than enough difference between the two to justify (if you have too

Heck I can justify different fonts on the same reference.

Absolutely nothing wrong collecting within the same model range! I'm putting an order in for a 16713 and I already have a 16710, just need the same model in a different look...

I have a black TT Sub, a blue TT Sub and a Sea Dweller. As far as my spouse is concerned, I've bought three of the same watch. I on the other hand, love the differences and wouldn't be surprised if someday I add a SS Sub to the family. You are the only one who has to be satisfied.

I have a 16600 V and will be getting a DSSD. I think they are very different but maintain the great look of the Seadweller

What I have learned is that there are certain types ... some people like varieties of Rolex models .... others, like me, like one type only ....so collect the model you like ....I love subs and sds and I think if I spend $$ on any other model, then it is a waste .. no matter what that watch is ... call me mental or retarded ... So the lesson is that screw everyone's opinion .... collect what you want ... it is your money ... if I had the $$, I would buy 100 subs and 300 SDs ...

I remember seeing a sale here on TRF....all the SS Rolex dive watches, a "package deal"....nd sub, d sub, sd sub, lv sub & dssd sub....the perfect set!

I own an SD and a Deepsea. I see them as completely different watches, so my philosophy is by all means, if the watch sings to you - go for it!

that's what my girlfriend says. She can't distinguish between any of them. She can only recognise the Super Jubilee as it's "the Seiko watch".

No kidding. Until October 2009, the thought of owning more than one Rolex had NEVER entered my mind. I'd been completely happy for 18 years with my black TT Submariner. Is USD 4.85K too high for a sd V series 1yr watch complete set?
did not consider a brand new s/s submariner at USD 5.4k because of the new model.
Both are so nice and tough choice, wish I had the $$$$ no headache
