Icon20 My name is Bond ...

The first Bond watch I owned was a cool swatch I bought maybe 10 years ago. The "From Russia with Love" watch.

This year I thought I'd upgrade and it was off to the AD.

I've been looking at Rolex online for years (the official site, not fora such as this) and thought that buying would be simple. Walk in, tell him that I want a submariner, with date but without the 'bump'. And I did and he had the 14060M as well as a LV steel sub and the Deep Sea ... and then I started to get confused.

Long story short ... I asked friends, I've read pretty much all the sub posts here and the pics of the new green green Sub (I like the word Hulk as compaed to Green Lantern) then when on holiday to London on my third trip (on Saturdat 520pm) to an AD saw the 14060M non date COSC and paid him all the money I had and he agreed to hold it till monday (long story there). Monday I was at the store while they were still vacuming!

And here is my watch.

I took the picture on a moving train from London to Edinburgh, a train journey I had postponed by a couple of hours so as to be able to pick the watch up myself ... and uploaded it to my FB account ... was that excited!

Thanks a whole bunch for all the information and overall quality and civility of this forum.

And a slightly better picture from the hotel

And when I'm back home I'll take pics with a 10 & 50 x microscope and post those as well!!

Lovely watch, congrats I was going to get one and then got my Daytona instead after years of waiting, so the Sub is next on my list (along with an original Tag Heuer Monaco) :-)

I also have the same Bond Swatch as you, and use it for general stuff when I dont want to wear something fancy or expensive - and it probably gets as many comments as my Daytona !

You have great taste

i knew you guys were friendly ... but this kind of response to a watch that a zillion folk probably have just blew me away - what a sense of comaradrie (maybe spelt wrong).
Anyways ... when I have the money a Hulk and then a Daytona and then a Jaeger ... may the Jaeger ... maybe the Explorer large case before :-)

Are you sure this forum is not Rolex owned so as to increase Emotional Quotient amongst its buyers (joke there). Thank you so much for the kindness.
