when fully screwed in does the Rolex "crown" emblem on the crown point straight up? or are all different and point in random directions when fully screwed in? I ask bc mine doesnt point straight up at all (hmm..that could sound the wrong way...hahaha) thanks...im sure everyone will laugh at me for asking.

There is no particular direction that the crown is supposed to point when it is screwed in although, for some reason, photographers always seem to unscrew it to perpendicular to the case so it makes a good photo.......

Of the watches I have and the ones I've flipped, only 2 have been pointing straight up.

Don't be jealous of the pics. They're usually slightly unscrewed to point upwards.

My crown won't adjust with a flat head screwdriver.

...Only if you're an electrician.. But that, imo, looks better on electrical plate covers...

My first Rolex a 1991 submariner no date, did indeed have a winding crown that "pointed straight up" or more accurately pointed towards the '3'; which did impress me. Allowing me to marvel at the level of perceived detail provided by the watchmakers!

However; following it's first service it returned lacking that impressive feature!

To date none of my other Rolex watches ( milgauss, submariner date, oyster precision date) have ever demonstrated (to my disappointment) that level of watch making quality.

So if, you also have an example where the winding crown points directly at '3', and this is important to you? DO NOT send it away to be serviced, you may be disappointed upon it's return.

It's supposed to point to the right, so it points up when you tilt the watch toward you to read the time. Everybody knows that. And if it doesn't, you just grab it with a pair of vise-grips and crank that sucker around to where it oughta be. Don't be shy. :-)

It's supposed to point to the right, so it points up when you tilt the watch toward you to read the time. Everybody knows that. And if it doesn't, you just grab it with a pair of vise-grips and crank that sucker around to where it oughta be. Don't be shy. :-)
