Best coffee in the world!!!

O.K. I guess you guys have all had coffee before and it's gonna take more than a few choccy sprinkles and an injection of hot milk to get you all frothing with excitement.

I don't think I would have believed it if it had not been on a serious food connoisseurs documentary.

In Indonesia there is a cat called the Civet Cat:

Civet.jpg

civetberry.jpg

The cats prowl the coffee plantations at night (and are fed coffee cherries during the day), choosing to eat only the finest, ripest coffee cherries. The stones (which eventually form coffee beans) are then collected by sifting through the Civet's number twos.

civet-poop.jpg

The coffee beans is then roasted and treated being totally safe, totally sterilised and totally delicious. Plus there's no discernable aftertaste. And it all becomes premium coffee that can cost around $50 per cup.

The flavour is said to be very heavenly (some say it has a Revered for its luscious chocolatey flavour).

I think I'll stick to a regular chocolate bar and a cup of Nescafe

I tried it and was impressed with the aftertaste but I will stick to my Jamaican Blue Mountain as I can get it on a regular basis. And word to the wise....if you spend $50 for a cup of java you better be sporting a Rolex!

I have heard of it, but not rushing out to try it.

Cuban coffee beans are tops in my opinion.

I guess I'm just a simpleton. I will stick to my Dunkin Donuts brand.
(If you haven't tried it, it's actually great. Made me switch from Starbucks...)

So who is the lucky guy who goes looking for the Civet Cat to make coffee???

Sounds like Cheech and Chong when the doberman ate the marijuana and Cheech was in the back yard picking up the then smoking it.

Although I love DD coffee, too (you can actually taste the donut flavor), comparing it to Starbucks is very unfair. You should compare DD to real coffee, not the burned garbage they pass off as high priced swill.

I usually do the best coffee myself with a grinder. Believe it or not...8 Oclock beans really make a good cup of Joe.

Yep, the 8 O'Clock hazelnut is my favorite. I also like the Blue Mountain but a little pricey.

Can't argue with you there. I can't drink Starbucks from one of their coffee houses. I can only stomach it if I make it myself.

The wife and I are getting ready to do a kitchen makeover (among other improvements), and I am seriously considering installing one of those built-in coffee maker/grinder units. I hear fresh ground can't be beat.

Hmm, think I will stick to either my Bean around the world cuban organic or Trees organic peruvian dark roast (Both local coffee shops where I live), Starbucks don't make coffee that is even close to drinkable..Hmm, wonder if they let rabid costa Rican dogs eat their beans and poo it out first!)

As my old Chief use to say:

Black for me please - the old Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) mixture works best for me.

That and a bag of freshly roasted Brazil Redcab from Barefoot roasters makes me a very happy boy.

I enjoy many coffees from all over the world and yes, I do enjoy Starbucks as well. One of my favorites though is Jamaican Blue Mountain. Hawaiian Kona is also very good and worth a taste!!!
