The first of many!!! Now you can relax. It's like anticipating the first door ding with a new car.

Sorry to hear that.
I still remember the 1st ding on my GMTIIc. Every time I would wear it, that's all I'd focused on....it was madness!
Wear it in good health.

Just enjoy wearing it and dont let the little scuffs and scratches bum you out... they just add character. The 12 oclk side of my band is getting trashed more and more every day. Wish i knew how to buff them out.... but, oh well!

Immaculate watches look nice, and watches with an even patina look nice, but otherwise immaculate watches with one big scratch look not-so-nice.

As you accumulate more minor wear, your watch will look better. Resist the urge to polish.

Looking down at it, it is ok, but from the side, metal bubbled out!

I got a huge deep scratch on the clasp of my Explorer II and I have only had mine a couple of months as well. I wanted to cry the first time I saw the scratch. I am sure are many more to come.

Last time home I gave my middle son (9 years old) my Explorer II and my Tudor Chrono to hold at the same time......mistake I know, should have been one at a time but he wanted to compare them side by side....well the inevitable happend.....he "clacked" them together.....Tudor crown against Explorer off-crown side......nice little ding in the side of the Explorer II which was just back from service in February and was immaculate.....do you know something, I didn't like the sound at all....but I actually like the ding, might sound odd....but I know who did it, how it happened and I love my son so much it hurts sometimes.....so it is "his" mark and I don't mind it being there at all....I carried it back to work with me and if I look at it, it reminds me of him and that moment.....that's special somehow to me

Could the RSC fix something like that?

Just curious but would the RSC be able to fix something like that? I've heard they do an amazing job cleaning up finishes but even that?

I'm assuming the bezel is part of the case and can't be replaced.

That was trully touching and it's not often I'm moved by something I've read.

You're a good man Bill...

Dings = it means it is being used. Good on you.

I do take care of my pieces but minor scratches/marks are inevitable so don't worry about it.
