I want a new kitten, I am worried Spooky would have a problem adjusting to the kitten.

Maybe you should look at a kitten that isn't super young? It might take some time but Spooky would adjust.

Well I could leave the claws on the kitten and then Spooky would keep away from it since she is declawed.

That is horribly funny and made me laugh.
Maybe you could just hold off the declawing until they get used to each other?

There should be a law against declawing.

Animal cruelty, pure and simple.

What if the "indoor" cat should find a way out, it would be totally defenseless.

Lets not get to upset here, I have indoors cats who stay indoors and do not go out under any conditon. Now since I have antiques in my house full of priceless funiture it is a must for my cat to be declawed, now the other coin would be that Spooky my cat would not live with me for the past ten years sleeping next to me and most likely she woud have been dead long ago, she is a alley cat I took in as well as Sammie my other cat who passed away, I look at the best condition for the animal and being in a home with lots of love and spoiling her rotten is better than her being dead before she was a year old. Please understand I love my cat and I take better care of her than anyone, she is pamperd better than a child. She has never been outside in her life and she has never headed for the front door to escape.

I understand and I know you love cats but it's still my opinion.

I have an "Alley cat" as well but luckily for me I live in a dump.

No need for the 11'er Marie, we all are entitled to our opinions,

even if he's wrong.

I do not think you live in a dump, I know you would understand that I lived in the woods before I came home and I saw Spooky and Sammie half dead when I brought them into my home, she would have not made it if I left her out in the woods.

No worries, Marie. I have no interest in starting a fight.

Crackerman, I think you should get a kitten. Everyone thinks cats are loners, but most of them actually do better with a companion. It might take her a while, but she'll get used to a housemate. There are plenty of cat books that talk about how to introduce a new animal into the home.

Oh Jeannie, I wasn't saying that at all to you.
I was just giving Leo and David a bad time before they got further into it. They know my 11 foot pole reference all too well.

I agree with you that David should get another kitten. Cats do so well in pairs.

Jeannie Eveything is cool we all get along and we need to express our opinions and do it with a positive outcome.

I agree he should get another kitten and instead of declawing it they should "Deball" Crackerman.

I agree, none of my cats are declawed. But, if it keeps a cat in a home, there are some instances where I understand why people do it. It is hard to get cats adopted. There are claw caps you can put on your cats nails to stop clawing and they fall off over time. Like fake fingernails.
