Exciting Brunch!
After a long weekend of cook-outs and parties a few friends came up here for a cook-out I was having on Sunday. First thing this morning, I took five of them to brunch at the club, I was enjoying my Eggs Benedict when the bad weather siren went off and we really got a kick-butt show out the window during brunch.
It's not being called a tornado yet, but it took alot of trees down including this big one outside the window, blew the 2nd hole sign approx. 1/4 mile away from the hole and has the club now closed for a week for cleanup! |

So if I'm correct...the tornado siren went off...and you decided to continue with the Bloody Mary and Eggs Benedict.
Seriously though...glad no one was hurt! |

Once you cut into the Eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce with the egg yolk blend into the hash browns, no way a mere little tornado is getting this kid away from the plate, however, no Bloody Mary. To cut the richness of the hollandaise sauce and egg yolk, if the champagne is flowing, it's Mimosas around the table! |

They may end up calling it a wind shear(sp.)as winds can reach seventy miles and hour and cause much damage!!!
As for eggs lately I've been enjoying sunny side up ones with corn beef hash!!!

Tornadoes do happen in central PA, but for the most part all we get is a lousy "micro-burst" rating. NW toward Erie they are more common due to the flatter terrain and lake effect.

If the ground is really wet from a rain storm and then the shear winds come up it will up-root a tree real fast. I have seen it in Oklahoma when I was going to OSU.

Leo, you can join my gang at the breakfast table any time you want. There was a cook at one of my Philly clubs that made a salmon hash that would knock your socks off! Side note: after knocking down 19 trees and one large utility building, this was determined not to be a tornado. It is being classified as some type of "burst". Unfortunately as the type of "burst" was being announced on the TV news, I missed it due to having just sent two guys to the woodshed after "schnidering" them in a game of Gin. It was legendary!! |
