New Member - Rolex Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA Club
Greetings again fans!!
Well, I CRACKED big time everyone. Fyi, recently flipped my beloved classic SeaDweller and pulled the trigger on the very esteemed and chic Rolex "V" series Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA successor model. And what can I say? This monster is truly an amazing piece of uber engineering and technological know-how, functionality, style and design on the part of Rolex. And really, what's not to like here?? 1) the new superb case architecture and waterproofness 2) the high performance inner ring 3) the domed sapphire crystal 4) the titanium caseback 5) the new Cerachrom bezel 6) the proven accuracy, durability and robustness of the caliber 30135 precision Rolex movement, featuring their Parachrom blue hairspring; this being highly resistant to shocks and magnetic fields. 7) the newly design and highly functional bracelet with their GlideLock Clasp. 8) their new and improved luminescent 'blue' glow on the dial. 9) COSC Certification, actually pressure-proof down to a ridiculously insane 16,000 feet. 10)the overall look, feel and comfort of the watch, in spite of it's much talked about bulk. Anyway, I've had my Dipsey now for about a week and absolutely love it. Even with my modest 6.5 inch wrist size, the watch feels perfectly comfortable and right "at home." And, in terms of accuracy and timekeeping, I'm tracking this against my ultra accurate Atomic Clock here at home and and the DS has been literally "spot on" so far. Attached are a few pics. Again, I'm totally stoked about this new piece. And probably the most ironic fact of all, is that I don't even know how to swim, much less dog paddle, anything!!! Didn't stop me from acquiring what I believe (IMHO) to be amongst Rolex's finest looking, proven and legendary sports watch to date. Bottom line, I feel GREAT having this awesome monster on my wrist! Talk about a SUPERLATIVE WINNER in every respect. Sure other owners can most definitely relate! BEST REGARDS |

It still amazes me every time I see the "12800 ft = 3900 m" text. That's a strong watch!

Even if you could swim, with that "bad boy" you're going sink.
The DSSD has been my daily wear for some time now. I like that it has size, but size to support a function as opposed to size for the sake of fashion. Extremely comfortable due to the clasp.

I realize how fortunate and lucky I am to have one. And again, it's been tracking amazing accuracy thus far also when compared with my atomic clock here at home and literally 'spot on.' Yes, truly an amazing piece all right. And DB, your spot in the DSSD Club has already been reserved for you. So hopefully we'll be seeing you really soon! Lastly, you inquired regarding price. Well, as wise men often say, you should always shop the seller first, then the watch. Simply couldn't agree more with this axiom, given the fact we're dealing with first-rate jewelry and a fairly sizeable investment. So why take chances IMHO. My AD charged me the retail rate of $9,250 less an $4,000 allowance on my original 16660 SD (probably could have gotten more if I sold it personally, but didn't want the hassle). So, yeah, I didn't get any sort of deal, per se, nor did I really expected to either. However, I was able to save a few $'s (primarily sales tax) by doing an all-cash transaction. Definitely could have saved more $$'s by going the non-AD route. But at the end of the day, I wanted the peace of mind and assurance of complete authenticity and superior customer service and support after the sale. For me anyway, it was a premium worth paying for. I sleep very well at night by going this route also. Again, it's all about personal security, happiness and peace of mind. I'm sure others might agree here also. BEST REGARDS |

Congrats!!!
On a side note, the thought of not knowing how to swim makes me anxious. The thought of having to rescue my wife or child and not being able to frrrreaks me right out.
