submariner advice
hi all this is only my second post so please be patient with me. im fairly new to the world of rolex although i have always loved them. im just putting my toes in what seems like a big pond with even bigger fish lol i am currently looking for a ss sub 16610 but am not sure whether to buy a relatively new one 2000 / 2008 or go with something older i know the model hasnt changed a great deal but is there any dooos or donts i should be looking our for ie pin holes or no pin holes or anything i should be aware or for instance is there a better or worse movement sorry if these seem like silly questions but we all have to start somewhere and after reading many many threads everyone seems pretty ok on this forum so any advice would be greatly appreciated

Welcome Cabman - lots of folks on here with good advise. I'm sure someone will provide some input. I'm certainly new at this and can't provide any but love to see what they have to say. Regards,

Lug holes are generally found on older Subs. Only the dateless 14060 remains with lug holes. It usually means that the bracelet does not have solid end links which, IMO, is a better bracelet.
I have a sub that's 3 years old and one that's 22 years old and both are great watches. If your buying pre-owned, I would stick to a newer watch because it most likely has seen less abuse. A serial # starting with D, Z or M. Also welcome to the forum. If you do a search on subs....you'll get hundreds of pages of info to sift through! |

ive made up my mind
hi and thanks for the replys ive decided to go for a 2005+ 16610 sub and am now starting to have a look around there doesnt seem to be a shortage and after spending many hours looking at condition and prices the best way to go seems to be a fairly new sub with little use as these only seem to command a few hundred in price difference and i may as well be the one to start wearing it everyday and not keeping it locked up any thoughts or advice on this would be appreciated
