Anyone else got the Mark Twain on order?
This year's Montblanc Writers Series pen honors Mark Twain. From the photos, it looks like a beauty. My local shop, Dromgoole's, has mine on order, so I'm just waiting until the release - slated for August - to add it to the collection. I just did a quick count of my pens and this will be number 19 in the series.
Anyone else looking forward to getting their Mark Twain? Best, Skip |

I'm expecting these to be very popular and thus a pricey acquisition.
I am thinking around $1500.00 for the FP.

Wow that looks stunning. I have noty bought a new pen for the last 8 years; but looking at these pics I just might further expand my MB collection.

All the preview pictures I've seen don't show if there is an ink view window. Does anyone know if there is one?

The cap is designed to be reminiscent of the smoke stack on a river boat and the clip that of a mouth harp. I like it!

And yes, a well-adjusted FP glides across the paper, almost like a skate on ice. They really are a joy to write with, and quickly become very addictive. Just be aware of that before you buy your first one, because, like can't eat only one Lay's potato chip, you can't buy only one FP! |

I just got into FP's and its a really easy switch from what i can tell... much less pressure and the pens are very unique. I can tell now that i need a fine point instead of a meduim. I recomment Lamy for a first pen.. not expensive so if you dont like it, you dont have much invested. They sell converters for them as well so you can use bottled ink. Check into Lamy Safari's or the Al-Star. I bought both and really like them.

You will find writing with FP's are effortless when compared to a ball point.
Once you begin to appreciate everything from the ink colors, line variations, nib sizes and customizations, along with the sweetness of how they write you will be hooked.

The price is $960, and they are available in F,M, anb B only. Test drove one Saturday, pulled the trigger on it, and have a sealed one being sent from Germany. I too think it's going to popular because it's one of the best looking Writers Editions they've made... RS

Brian, Thanks for the tip! We just came from the Houston MB store in the Galleria. Have you worked with FPH before? Do they ship sealed product down here to Cajun country? The big store is nice, but if I can save $100 on an Ingrid Bergman for the wife, it's a done deal. RS

Whoa! I didn't expect FPH to have the Twain so soon after release! And at a pretty good discount too... Thanks for sharing!

FPH will receive their Twains early September. I paid $860.00. They come with everything like you get a a MB boutique but the pen is not sealed on plastic. I've been happy with FPH.
