Perks of the Job...

Hey all,

Alongside the watches, the shop where I work also sells pens, principally by Dunhill. This week, there was an unfortunate incident where one was left too close to a halogen lightbulb, and part of the resin body melted. Obviously, it couldn't be sold, and Dunhill weren't able to repair, so my boss was going to throw it away...

....until I heard about it, and decided to have the pen It's a Dunhill Sentryman ballpoint, nicely made, and, apart from the minor cosmetic damage (which actually acts as a nice rest for my thumb), is in perfect working order. Best of all, for a watch that retails at £190, I got it for free!

I don't have any photos of it yet, but here's a stock photo of what it should look like

I love my job :D

Nice pen Chris. If the damage is not too severe it can be buffed out. Micro-mesh makes some diamond sandpaper and cream for plastics. We used it to take scratches out of aircraft windows.

Thanks Jerry, but the damage is quite intensive - I'll get some photos up as soon as I can, things are just a bit crazy at the moment, I'm moving houses

Those lamps get about as hot as the surface of the sun, they've burnt me enough times anyway!

Chris, you lucky guy to be given a very nice free pen with minor damage. As long as it works okay who cares what it looks like!!!
