Which Daytona to get?
Hi guys...
Lately I have been re-organizing my collection and trying my best to only keep a few Rolex watches. Selling off the ones that don't get much wrist time... However, I have also been wanting to add a Daytona to my collection. I have decided to pick one up tomorrow... However, I am stuck between which color to get... Black or White...! So, just for fun I wanted to see which one gets the most votes... Which one would you get? Lets have some fun and please post your Daytona pictures if you have one! Cheers!

I think they are all classy, the Day-Date and Daytona are the only two watches I would wear that would be all gold. You cant make a wrong choice.

You will find that it will be close to a 50/50 vote re: white/black, but the white will win by a slight margin.
I once owned white, but realized its not my cup of tea. I may purchase the black in the very near future. So, I say go black. |

Congrats on your future purchase Kevin Go for the gold if it's in your budget. You're in Hong Kong so I'm guessing your leaning toward the black dial. My second choice is SS Black Dial.

Joe is absolutely right, but it's your personal preference. I have owned black and white, not at the same time, but ended up keeping the white for a while and now have gone back to black. It is all a matter of your personal preference

Most sport watches have black dials except for the Explorer II and Daytona. Why not get the white dial since you can get anything else in black.

I've gone back and forth on the SS Daytona, but in preparing for a new purchase (maybe), I recently parted with the black and kept the white; a sure sign of my preference in the end. Having said that, I know both are great and, as they say, you can't really go wrong; but if I could only have one Daytona, it would have to be gold.

If you can swing it....I love the steel/gold, two-tone, with the champagne "Paul Newman" dial!
Champagne dial, w/ black sub dials...looks very vintage! (I saw it on the Swissluxury.com site, a great site to see pics of a big variety of Rolexes!) For all gold...there's the yellow gold Daytona, on a croc strap, w/ a "Paul Newman" type dial...black dial w/ champagne sub dials...also a very cool vintage look. |

Just curious. Is it possible to combine the bezel of one with the dial/band of another?
In other words can someone order the white bezel of the SS with a white gold watch + band? |

I didn't vote. I have a white SS, but if the all gold is an option I'd say to get the best looking watch Rolex makes: The White Gold Daytona with Meteorite Dial on a black strap.
Just my $0.02........

Can't go wrong with any of the selections, but gold is my preference.

If you can swing it
the white or yellow gold version with the new panda or PNM type of dials. Nothing feels like the gold Daytona
SS Daytona is better investment (in term of retaining value) imho . The black dial is very sporty ( dial of choice in your neck of the woods ), and the white is elegant and easy on the old eyes . BTW: Apparently the black dial SS Daytonas are in short supply there in Hong Kong, I have request for 3 black and 1 white F serial with MK I and fat hands but have not been able to fulfill. |

Just picked up a white daytona for the missus in HK through her connections. The AD also had a black dial in the safe which was higher priced.

I love the SS white Daytona, its the only steel white dialed watch I like. The Gold is a stunner and way up there on my wish list, the black PN dial is sublime. You can't go far wrong with any of those options, best of luck!
