The Bezel of my 1967 5513 pinged off into the sea last weekend and I'm gutted as the watch was all original with box, papers... everything. Can anyone advise me what to do? I've been to Rolex HQ in London and they have said that they can fit a new one but don't keep any vintage stock. I'd really like to find one of the same era in the same appropriately worn condition - do these exist on the second hand market? Any help gratefully received as I'm distraught!

Steve, I believe is on holiday until the 26th, but try him at stevemulholland3@aol.com, he can surely help you.

He is a well respected seller here.......

Bezel, plus insert and pearl, expect to pay some dollars though for a period correct item.

There has to be plenty of little shops in a place like London that specialize in vintage watches, including Rolex. If you look around a bit, you should be able to find something that match. Expect to spend a few hundred bucks/quids though...

This is why I hate wearing my vintage watches! I just don't anything like this happening to my DSSD! :-)

Another vote here for Steve. Absolutely first rate guy and my first stop for anything vintage. Send him a PM and when he gets back for vacation he'll go to work for you.

Not the end of the world, these are available still at a price. Someone I would really recommend (as well as Steve) is a guy called Andrew Shear (shear-time on Ebay) Based in NY, he gets a phi-nominal amount of good vintage rolex parts and watches and always seems to have bezels and on top of that he is a very safe person to buy from, great reputation (I purchased a vintage gmt from him and it was a very straight forward deal between our countries)
