The Expendables
I confess - I love mindless action movies and grew up on Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Van Damme, Segal ... and was very happy to see the posters of the Expendables back in May. The movie just released here (here is Bangalore, India) and I watched it Sunday. I notice that one of the watches Stallone wears is a Panerai.
Does he wear any other watches (maybe different models - am pretty sure he wore at least 2 watches - one nato and one rubber strap) in the movie? Pics appreciated. |

Get the latest issue of Watchtime. There's an interview with Steve Austin (who happens to be a collector). He says everyday he would look to see what watch Sly was wearing.

From the posters I see here in London he's wearing a Panerai Luminor 1950 Regatta Rattrapante 2009 limited edition.

Sly is a huge collector of watches...especially PAMs. There is even a PAM called the Slytech named after him...lol. You can catch a video of him trying on different watches on "YouTube"...pretty interesting.
Bottom line...he's been wearing PAMs for a long time. |

I grew up watching Stallone but the cover of M&F makes him look like he's falling asleep.

I just watched this movie on DVD and was wondering the same thing. There's a scene towards the end in the palace where they show the Panerai pretty clearly. Glad to see this was already addressed in this thread.

I just watched "Expendables" last night. If you like Panerai watches, it is a must-see. Some great wrist shots and one close-up dial shot. Movie was "ok" but was a little cheesy at times.

movie was great, I understand people think it is cheesey, but, there is so much crap out there now, a nice return to basics was nice...I really enjoyed it...and in the age of over-hyped garbage movies out there, where every pretty boy is an "action hero" it was cool to see some guys in great shape having fun...and I am about to return to the panerai arena when my PAM 25 arrives this week, and I plan to buy more this year, it was cool to see Sly and Jason Stratham sporting awesome looking watches...
