Which Daytona?
I have been thinking about my next watch, have not totally decided between a stainless daytona, deep sea, or GMT. I ran across a pretty good deal on a stainless and gold daytona. I am wanting your opinions between a stainless daytona and a stainless and gold daytona?

Bombay, since I own the stainless, I am going to suggest you go that way (of course). The TT are exceptionally beautiful watches, I am just not very much of a (yellow) Gold kind of guy, just my personal preference.
Whichever way you go, you're NOT going to be dissapointed. |

I'd go with the TT daytona and put it on a strap with a genuine rolex clasp.

I am going to be in the minority.
Between the SS and TT daytona I'd go with the TT (as long as it was a pre-owned TT). Reason: More choices in the dials and less expensive.

Have the SS version, would recommend the TT version. Much nicer looking. One of the nicest TT watches, IMO.

I am partial to ss daytona... but if you get a TT and want to consider resell.... tt is the way to go. Both are stunnig watches!

TT Daytona - if you can get a great deal and a dial you are happy with.
less common in the wild imo! |

IMO the TT's don't hold their price like the SS.

If you buy new at somewhere close to list, a TT Daytona will lose considerable value as soon as it no longer becomes an new, unworn piece.
If you buy new at list, a SS Daytona will lose less value off of the bat, and have a far better chance of being worth more than what you paid (although that is no longer the guaranteed thing like it used to be before Rolex raised the list price of the 116520 to basically over $10K+ out the door of an AD). Used TT Daytonas lose way more value both percentage-wise and actual dollars than their SS brethren. Check out what each typically is offered for on the secondary market, and compare to what the original pricetag of those particular models ran when they were first released.

Love the look of a TT, only issue is as soon as a TT hits my wrist and I see the contrast against my pale Scandinavian hide, I can't wait to get it off.
SS for me - got one waiting for me

I saw a TT just last week, I think it is a gorgeous watch. I have been wanting the SS version, but had I not already purchased 3 watches this year I would have probably pulled the trigger on the TT.

Have to agree with you although not a huge fan of the modern day Daytona, just cannot fo the life of me see why,at the peek of Daytona fever, some were paying almost as much for the SS as a TT.Perhaps it was just because the S.Steel was hard to get or just purely a must have at the time fashion thing.
