Pepsi Bezel for GMTII 116710 ?
Hello,
this year in Basel we saw the new SUB's coloured ceramic bezels. Do you think that Rolex will decide to fit the pepsi - like this one in the picture - on GMTII 116710? I hope they'll do

I think not unfortunately, but they would sell a shed load of them if they did.Colouring the ceramic seems to be the problem. Photo looks good though, we can only dream that they might make one.

Hi, I wish they would make one, they are trying but from what I heard( an interview with the rolex president ) they were having trouble with the shade of red but more trouble trying to blend/connect two different types of ceramic to make one bezal :( would love to spice up the black on black gmtiic :) but it is still sexy the way it is!

I have no doubt that Rolex will offer this in the maxi case (etc) as soon as they can make the ceramic bezel in twin colours.

I don't think it will happen and the truth is that the Pepsi and Coke bezels have been honourably retired. If Rolex could do it I bet a Pepsi GMT would become their top selling professional watch, outstripping the Sub.

If anyone has the expertise to work out how to make a single piece bi-coloured ceramic bezel, then it is Rolex! Here's hoping

I'm with you one this one mate. I've been thinking for a while that if they wanted too they would have already.

They certainly SHOULD offer the Pepsi bezel on the GMT II. The original GMT had a Pepsi bezel- which had the utilitarian use of distinguising between night (blue) and day (red) in your second time zone. The all black GMT II C besel is not at all true to the original, Tool Watch, concept.

I'm not so sure... The red/blue GMT was not really one of Rolex top sellers.. As a matter of fact, when the GMT II first came out, it was only offered in Black/red.. Even then, those of us who actually wore GMT's could count the number you might see in any given year on a couple of fingers.. The GMT II never really broke out as a top seller until it was offered in it's current black (only) ceramic version, and they marketed the blue spring as a modern miracle (that's a whole different thread).. So, my view: Maybe..but only for some nostalgia.. I don't think that it will become a great seller and only a few WIS will even be interested in a red/blue bezel watch.........

I heard the ceramic looked purple or hot pink when heated.

If they could do it do you really think the would have launched the GMTc with a black bezel. They would have released it in a Pepsi honoring the original. I think they cant do it And that's why I got an f series Pepsi last month. If you doubt the popularity of the pepsi vs black dial check the price diff between the an all black GMT and a Pepsi.

personally id rather see a Coke bezel on a GMT, as ive always preferred this to the Pepsi, however as many people have said it is because they are having problems having 2 colors on one ceramic disk

If it's the Ceramic material that's holding up a Pepsi or Coke GMT II C bezel than that's yet another reason to bail on the ceramic and either find another material or just return to the aluminum bezel which served them very well for many, many years.

I mentioned this again to the guys at the RSC in London yesterday when they were taking a look at my GMT Pepsi. They said that a Pepsi or Coke is not going to happen - although, as he said, thats good news for owners of the 16710.
