Hi Experts,

I am looking to purchase my first rolex and I need some help in identifying the year that the watch was produce. I had a good deal on a 79174 model and the serial is A7XXXX2. May I know which year is the watch made? Really appreciate it. Thanks.

Bout 1998-99ish. Uses a 2235 fastbeat movement.

I'll move thi to the Rolex forum to see if we get more play there.

Thanks Mike. It does not come with box or paper but it's in mint condition. Will it affect it's value?

I am deciding to buy this watch a 79174 rolex with stick dial with tight jubilee bracelet or other watch which is a year 1991 69173 rolex but with a diamond marker dial. Any advice? Both comes without box and paper. Price difference is about 500. But I would like to know what are the value of these two watches. Thanks.

A7 could well be into mid 2000.
