I'm amazed...

I set my new GMTII when I received it on my birthday to the local time within a few seconds - and that was over two (2) months ago. I was just curious to see how far off it was after 10 weeks. It is only 2-3 seconds to what I set it !!

... I do take that watch off at night and store it next to my bed in a vertical position with the crown down (touching the table - so I can see the time ). Not sure if that means anything or not..

I believe it helps "slow down" the watch slightly

So maybe my watch would be a little "fast" if I didn't do that ?

Only thing I remember doing was changing the hour hand when moving through timezones when traveling a few times, but I didn't stop the movement when I did that (which is a wonderful feature of the GMT)..

Wow, I am still amazed...Roughly at 13-14 weeks, my watch is at 3 sec fast beyond where it was set...Have not touched the setting other than to switch the hour hand +- 3 hours when traveling (in the first crown position - without stopping the movement). If it was time for service, I'd be afraid to send it in ! I've never had a watch that runs like this.

It's amazing when I talk to non-WIS people about my watches and many times they say "...and I hear they keep horrible time".

Outstanding, I personally haven't really checked this out on any of my watches.

I have a 7 week old sub c and for the first two weeks it lost about 2/3 sec per day. I then read about overnight storage position and started keeping it on it's side crown up. At that point I found it to be about six secs off of atomic clock standard, an in the next five weeks it has regained about 3 seconds. So my goal is to get it to atomic standard then try to keep it that way by storing it flat overnight every week or so. A little anal I know. But I am amazed that in essence over the last five weeks it is gaining about a half second per WEEK compared to atomic. Incredible accuracy. (I love my rolex!)

Excellent!

The first GMTIIC I had was DEAD ON. I am serious when I say it did not lose or gain even a half-second. It was incredible in its accuracy. My current GMTIIC TT isn't as good, but still it is very respectable.
