is this normal on a speedy? can i fix this myself?

There is another thread somewhere on the forum where a member had the same problem.

My advice is send it to a good watchmaker and get it sorted professionally!

Can't you push it with enough pressure and it will slot right back in?

Hey... When I saw this, I looked at my Speedmaster. Same exact problem.

I just took it down to the local watchmaker (who fortunately for me is only located two blocks from my office) and had him look at it. He opened it up and determined that the screw that holds the cap piece on was backing out. I believe he said he'd have to take the movement out to fix it. Anyway, I left it with him. He didn't act like it was a big deal, but certainly not something I would try to fix myself.

Not a big deal, but probably not something you would tackle without the correct tools. I'd pay to make sure it is water tight.

Did you get it fixed? My local watchmaker is very reasonable. I thought $17 was rather cheap for actually having to remove the movement and all.
