Travel Companion
This week I started to segway from my current position working at the local airport to a new job working about 200 airports across North America and the Caribbean. It's true, the trip was only from Cincinnati to Cleveland and yes, there was no timezone change.
However, what a great feeling to look down at your wrist and see a classic Rolex GMT II while attending endless meetings, running for the next flight, or jet setting to the next locale. At first I thought about wearing a beater but then realized this ain't a dress rehearsal. You only get one chance in this world so you might as well do it in style. And the Rolex GMT II, or any Rolex for that matter, make the demands from work much easier to take. dP

The black bezel GMT is my favorite of the GMTs -- great looking watch!

What year is your GMT. Notice is still has the lug holes. Great photos and good looking watch.
Just got a Gmt myself (Red/Black). I think th eRolex GTM is the most versatile and best watch out there. Fits flush to wrist, not too small and as big as I would want a watch. 3 time zones, elapsed time with bezel, etc... |

You hit it on the head. When traveling I need to wear everything from suit & tie to serious work clothes. The GMT does it all and does it well! MY GMT II is a K series from 2002. Never had one watch mean so much to me. dP

Wow, that is my baby...the "Black Beauty" as I call it. Just ask Rockrolex about how it feels to look down and see the Black Beauty there. I love my LV, but the Black Beauty is my basis, my first Rolex. Yeah, life is not a dress rehearsal. You could pop off next week, so wear that GMT ll with pride. If you ding it, you can get it polished out.

Beautiful GMT! I love traveling with my Rolex too. Here's a pic I took on the airplane of my old GMT.

You said one cool thing. It is true that the demands and stressors of work are subdued when you look down at your Rollie there....a reminder that you are and can be successful, strive for better and can always be punctual. Good point.

I think the black bezel works best for every situation but the pepsi bezel is really growing on me.

I agree. I wore my GMT with the black bezel most of the time, but there's just something magical about the Pepsi bezel. It made me smile everytime I wore it.

That is a beautiful Watch! I still favor the black bezel. And how certifiable are we when a tiny little bit of red on a dial can turn us on. I'm looking at my Sub on my wrist right now, and I really miss it!

Geez, almost forgot to mention. Another added bonus of a Rolex as a travel companion is visiting TRF while on the road to occupy my time and stay in touch with you Rolex watch freaks!

Yeah, was hard for me to decide between Black/Red and all Black. I finally decided on the red/black cuase thought the red gave a nice subtle contrast. Not bright red at all. I like how with the 2 different color schemes, I can use to time 15 or 30 minute increments, which I am always using for workouts or swims. You know I am liking the pepsi bezel more and more as well. I think all bezels are equally stunning. Maybe i should get a second GMT II watch as a backup, instead of an Explorer II or DJ!!

The GMT is such a good watch, it should have it's own section the Watch Only Section of this Forum!

I wonder which is the most common model amongst the forum users? What do we wear the most? Submariners, GMT, DJ, or what....
Maybe we should have a poll...

Well George, I try to rotate my four pretty evenly. I do a good job normally, but if I have just purchased one, I do tend to wear that one a bit more in the early days of ownership. As an example, my other three are getting a little jealous of my Rootbeer GMT right about now!

Fantastic picture of a fantabulous watch. I think it looks better than the new GMT.
