GMT Master II 116710 LN which country to buy it in?
Hi,
I am looking to buy the new GMT masterII 116710 LN but want to get the best deal on it. I travel a lot so can anyone advise of the prices in each of the following countries. Prices from a AD / reputable dealers please not special deals that people got in the past. Dubai Singapore USA (new york) Australia I am currently in the UK but live overseas so can claim the VAT back on the UK price. Wanted to see if I am best buying it here in the UK before i return overseas or elsewhere. Thanks in advance |

The uk MSRP is £4460 minus 17.5% if bought at the airside or about 11 -12% if from high street shops.
Hope this helps. Im Sure you get tax free from other country apart from where you are from. |

Cheers, Why only 11-12% if from a retailer but 17.5% airside...when VAT rate is 17.5%? Is that only if the retailer charge a fee to process the refund?
Are there any Rolex dealers Airside at Heathrow? |

Because there are admin charges and fees include if buying from high street ADs. Annoying but can't avoid.
On top of my head, T2, T3, T4 and T5 has Rolex ADs not sure about T1 though |

I have bought a few watches at David M Robinson in London this year, and they give you the full 17,5 % VAT back without any fee, which is actually quite cool. Even if it should be standard ;)

If buying airside in the UK just take the list price and divide by 1.175, until 4/1/11 at least, to get the ex VAT price (which also equates to just under 15% of the list price). However if you're travelling within the EU VAT is still payable it's just that the retailer will discount the watch by the same amount but VAT is still paid.
Another however is that if you want a SS GMTIIc you might have to forget about buying airside as a colleague of mine wants one as well and he called M&W in T5 today to order one for a forthcoming business trip and was told that they are no longer selling the popular Rolex SS Sport models airside as they can sell them in their high street stores for full retail and with no discount. |

I bought a Panerai PAM 320 from David M Robinson in Canary Wharf last month and also got the full 17.5% back.
