HELP - Scratched 2 links on my 3 week old Sub C - what to do
I know I'll get plenty more, but this is the first - and while it's a light scratch, I did a pretty good job. How do I polish satin links!

Oh come on, are you going to polish the bracelet every week? Maybe just brush it out once a year?
If you have to do it, I'd recommend a Scotch Brite pad, they work well. If you want a Rolex service center look, I can tell you the exact Bergeon number wheel they use (straight from the service tech's mouth!) to get an exact Rolex finish. |

Give it to me, it's too far gone now with a scratch. Then go buy another and keep it in the box in the safe and never ever wear it!!!
Really I'd leave it alone. |

Agreed with all above...But if you must touch it up,a Bergeon 2834c refinish pen or Scotch Brite pad works well!

leave it alone man...
im telling you what ever you do it will only make it worse and it will never look like factory.. any aftermarket refinish job on those links that were scratched will be different finish from the factory.. some my not notice, but i do because i refinish watches.. just leave it, because if you do decided to have them taken out then te whole bracelet must be refinished to match correctly |

Mine is about 5 weeks old and the clasp has a couple of nasty scratches. The watch is definitely mine now. My 18 year old tag has so mny scratches but most aren't even visible anymore because they have buffed out naturally over time.
Really it's ok. You'll survive! Enjoy it on your wrist. |

I'd leave it.
But if you had to buff it, do what the others recommended. Then take a plastic wrap, and wrap it all over the places that would scratch... that would be the entire watch, and then you can wear it safely. Hehehehe.

Unload it on eBay for whatever you can get, and buy a new one. Repeat weekly. And, pictures, please.

If it bothers you a lot you can use the brush pad or pen but before doing that give it a couple of weeks with the scratch to see if you can learn to live with it...
Once you brush it you will surely get another scratch soon and at some point you will learn to love it just as it is... You do not go painting your car again and again after every small scratch do you ?? ![]()

Do not polish, leave it for a longer time. It will only give you more stress when (after two weeks) you have another scratches.

You wear it on the wrist for several hours of the day, scratches can´t be avoided.
If you can´t live with them, I will suggest that you sell the watch, because many many more will come. See the scratches as scars of life, and that they give the watch a personal history of yours |

Don't worry and enjoy the watch. I actually like the patina. It gives the watch character.

I'd clean it up.
I found an abrasive pad on Flea Bay that works perfectly; one or two quick passes and the scratch is gone. Not Scotchbrite; this thing is dark red instead of green. (I am not posting a link because I don't want to appear as if I am shilling for them.) You can probably find the pads at one of the watch tool suppliers, too. |

Thanks for the responses - I'm not a stranger to the breaking in the new watch game. Thie was like someone keying your new car.
I'm over it now... |
