Finally Got It...SD 16600

I just purchased this M Series 16600 and I could not be more thrilled with it. I owned a Sea Dweller briefly back in 2005 and it was the only watch that I ever regretted trading away. I could never get it off my mind. After spending the last couple weeks searching for the perfect one, I found this M Series in excellent condition.

Thanks to all the forum members that helped me work through my GMTIIC vs SD 16600. The minute I snapped this one back on my wrist, there is absolutely no doubt that I made the right choice. This watch is perfect for me.

Now that I have a new favorite, it looks like it may be time to update my avatar!

I prefer the 16600 to the ceramic. Best model, gorgeous.

Well done. I love mine (wearing it today). If you can only own ONE Rolex or any watch for that matter, it is THE ONE to own IMO.

Thanks Karis! I have found with this hobby that trusting your own intuition is usually the best bet. BTW, did you decide to go for the TT Rose Gold DJ or are you sticking with your beautiful SS DJ?

Thanks! Being without this beauty for over five years really made me appreciate it so much more. I guess absence really does make the heart grow fonder.

Thanks! Nice attention to detail. It actually arrived yesterday and I snapped the pics last night.

NICE. That watch is just too beautiful for words. I am still trying to convince my wife to go with the 36mm case (using your pictures of course)!

Nice SD! I just got my first SD (first Rolex, actually) and I thought I'd be satisfied now that I've got a Rolex, but I kinda have my eye on another one now. Is it normal for Rolex's to start multiplying in your collection?

My small collection goes in cycles. Every person has their own sweet spot. For me, it is 3-4 watches. Any more than that and I start to feel like I am leaving too many behind every time I choose which one to wear! I love this SD so much that my 14060Ms days may be numbered. Haha

Thanks Rob! Between you, Joe (nauticajoe), Marc (marcinthemiddle) and Jib (sakuraba), you guys gave me all the encouragement I needed.

Better yet, it turns out that all my concerns about the additional weight and height affecting the wearing comfort were completely unfounded. I actually think my new SD is MORE comfortable than my 14060M. It just seems better balanced and it will make a phenomenal daily-wearer.

Charles,
That SD will come in very useful when you drop from Denver's 5280' altitude to sea-level. I think the 4000' rating will help. ;)

PS: Did you go to the Hyde Park event today?

Hey welcome to the club, my only Rolex is the Sea Dweller too. Like yourself, I find it the most comfortable because of the case thickness. When I put on other watches I find myself missing it's hefty presence on my wrist. Big time congrats I hope you, like myself, keep that bad boy forever.
