Weird crown rotation on a 31mm Datejust V series
Hi folks,
I gave my wife a V series TT Rolex Datejust Midsize RG/SS white dial/ roman and just realized that to adjust the date I have to turn the crown counterclockwise. And it's the same thing for time setting, to move the hands clockwise i have to turn the crown counterclockwise. Since all my Rolexes settinga, and even my wife's U series midsize SS datejust, work in the opposite direction (forward hands/turn clockwise, advance date/turn clockwise) I was wondering if they change the movement or if there's some kind of problem. BTW I bought it at a reputable AD and it is working perfectly.

Wanna hear the weirdest thing? The Datejust manual that comes says to turn the crown clockwise to adjust the watch.

Yeah, buddy! I did the exact same thing and freaked; it's normal! Just the way the movement in the 31mm is. I had to clean my shorts too!

I remember a thread about this some time ago. Don't remember what the conclusion was though. But I think there was agreement that the 31mm models are like that, anti-clockwise moving of the crown = hands move clock-wise. So you should be fine. But someone here should know for certain.

It has the lady's size movement in, which doesn't have the reverser wheels that the full sized men's movements have. So for them to go in the opposite direction to yours is perfectly normal, don't panic
