360 in the FS section.
I noticed the 360 for sale in the FS thread. I'm not knocking the seller for cashing in, but would you... 1) sell it if you were selected? 2). Pay 30G's for one if you weren't.
My answers, 1). No, at least not right away. 2). I would have thought twice if it had been closer to 20k.

Yeah. That's a lot of moolah for what's essentially a base model PAM. There's so much more watch you could buy (even more than one) for 30k...

Ah but Gentlemen, he is selling so much more than a mere watch. He is selling his loyalty to the Paneristi website part of which that made him to be chosen over others to buy the coveted base model. He is selling his exclusiveness in the Gentlemen's club which only a few have gained acceptance. He is thefirst in selling it like so many others will once they find out they can sell it for between 20k and 30k USD.

It's hard to judge what others will pay for a piece they desire. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder and believe me...there are people out there who are willing to pay $30k for that piece.

I harbor no grudges on someone trying to make a buck. The market price for the 360 is what the market will bear. Im sure there is someone who is willing to pay to appear to be a choosen loyalist. Since this is the first I've seen listed, I just wondered what others opinions were.

I have to chuckle. I rarely go to that site but took a peek the other day and could not believe all the complaining and chaos about not being chosen blah blah blah. Its just a watch and a over glorified base. I don't get all the bs if he wants to sell it so what its his watch. Every thing has a price and at 30 k why not.

The whole 360 affair has generated strong feelings. As with any reference that has a background more than the average reference there's going to be strong opinions on both sides.
All I ask is that we keep it civil. |

I remember when the Milgauss GV was selling for $12K-$15K.
Now you can buy one on TRF for $5K. I suspect the same will happen over time with the Panerai 360. My wife and I have 5 Panerais...048I, 219J, 088L, 219L and 243L. We paid a lot less than $30K for all 5 watches...a much better INVESTMENT in my opinion. |

Also I don't believe the seller is the original owner. I believe he traded a 202, a 194 and some cash for the 360. Anyway I offered him $20k and he turned me down! ![]()

Deserve has nothing to do with it. Who really knows the selection process. The one thing we do know is there will be more for sale. I find the process as a whole flawed but it is what it is.

This whole 360 debacle is amusing to me. Hopefully the irony of the whole situation is not lost on Officine Panerai. A watch designed for loyal Paneristi intended to generate goodwill between it's customers and the company does just the opposite. Now all the members at Paneristi are pouting like they didn't get selected for the prom court. Yes, it is limited production. But it has a $150 handwind 6497 movement and "fake" patina lume. Are you kidding? If I am going to drop that kind of coin on a watch it is going to have:
1. Some type of impressive in house movement. 2. Some type of historical significance. This is the most overhyped piece to come out of OP.

Were you friends with BBQ? Do you have any clue of the work that many of my friends put in to making this happen? That a friend of mine designed this and yet a couple more made this thing happen even after it was dead in the water. Or that the run was possibly going to much much more limited save for the work of friends of mine. It is typical of Rolex owners to look at the engine, but for most fans of this watch it is about more than that. I don't expect you to understand or even care for that matter. This watch represents 10 years of a forum where I have met some of the closest friends in my life. It represents a friend that lives each day in a wheelchair but has more fight and life in him than any person I know. Some of the unreal crying and entitlement has been embarrasing but not taken the shine off this watch for me. It was sad that because people acted like that the place was compared to a Rolex forum with a bunch of rich, alpha, think they are important idiots...ironic eh? I don't care if you don't like the watch, I have risti friends that don't like the design or the case color. But they understand what it means and represents to us. There is a saying that is true over there, "oh so much more than just a watch" and that could not be more true with this watch. As for how I feel about it, just read my sig about getting it. ![]()

If someone is willing to pay 30 k for a base it is special but just not to me. But I also liked the Ferrari line so what do i know.

The sentiment around the watch is hard for me to understand. I'm fairly new to the Paneristi world so I definietly fall into the don't get it camp. There's no way I'd spend more than list for the 360. It's a shame so much ill will was stirred up with the selection process. It seems like they should have had a more closed selection system to ensure those with strong sentimental attachment would get the watch. The whole 'anyone send an email and we'll see who gets one' approach seemed doomed from the start.

![]() I just want to be clear on that. I don't buy into the martyr stuff. It's just for me personally this watch has value beyond list price. For some it looks cool and others it's a payday. Different strokes...

I don't argue that the watch is not special to the Risti community. If Rolex gave me the keys to the castle and told me to design a watch for the collectors, I would be more than happy to oblige. I would also purchase the finished product. Some things you cannot put a price on, much like a family heirloom. I guess I just take issue with the price put on some of the pieces coming out of OP, especially the 6497 powered watches. What are you paying for?

When I buy a watch I buy what appeals to me. Some have a unique engine others i could care less and just like the look. To me most are just watches not investments. Every once in a while there is that one that represents something special and transcends beyond a simple watch. My 249 is such a watch. It was a gift and I really dont care what is inside as long as it works. As sad as it is sometimes I just put a watch on and don't even wind it. The 360 to some is that watch which i can appreciate but it appears to have come at a high price to the forum which it represents. Who knows maybe the seller decided that he no longer wanted to be a part of it do to the bickering and whining.

1. No. 2. No.
It's a special watch designed for the lucky 300, if i get one, i will never sell it... if i m not chosen in the first place, why would i spend 30k for the watch.... it is really a nice and lovely watch, but I think it is a pity for someone to buy it at 30k from the secondary market....

No that line refers to another time on this forum back in the day. You wouldn't get that either, trust me.
