How often should I use a watch winder.

Heya guys.

I have just bought a watch winder so that I can wind one watch while im wearing the other.

The watch winder has a chip to only wind every 12 hours or so. Should I just leave it on or turn it off and turn it back on every few days?

Its a wolf design 2.0 watch winder.

do you want to keep your watch wound or just look at it? Leave the winder set for the 12 hours and rotate your watches on and off it.???

it runs for 12 hours straight? That does not sound right. It should maybe only run for 15-20 minutes per hour so the watch can rest.

Don't make much difference you cannot over-wind a Rolex but you want around 600 -700 turns a day to keep power reserve up.Myself not a fan of watch winders for any watch with just a simple date complication without doubt the best winder is your wrist. And to wind re-set any Rolex watch must take all of 30 seconds to do.

Just make sure you're getting at least 650 turns per day.
