Having trouble removing crown guard

So, for some reason, my watch has the crown guard on backwards (lever opens from top instead of bottom) according to the numerous pics I've seen. I removed the 2 screws on the side of the guard and it still will not budge and I do not want to apply too much pressure. Am I doing something wrong or is this just something only a watchmaker should do?

Oh, upon looking at your avatar closer, you don't have a 104. What do you have?

310?

How did you get this watch? Used. How old, etc? Panerai should fix this.

I think it should be easily fixable.. You can do it yourself.. Just be gentle and find the correct spot..

Or, you can take it back to panerai to have them fix it..

Yes, it was lnib used. Bought from reputable TRF seller so I have no doubts about authenticity. It's not really broken but being anal I just want it to look stock.

IF, you really want to do it yourself, GENTLY warm the case. Maybe set it in the sun or a hairdryer, etc. You don't want to get it HOT. This GENTLE warming will make the loctite that is on the screws a bit softer. Also, be sure you use the proper size screwdriver. A proper size screwdriver is on that fits the entire length of the screw head. If you don't have it, don't do it with a smaller screwdriver. You won't have the proper torque advantage and you'll end up bending/scratching the screws that hold the crown guard in place.

To be honest, a reputable watch repairer should do this for a very nominal feel. I'm thinking $30 or so.

Thank You for the advice. However I have been able to take the 2 screws out but the guard still does not want to come off. Is there another screw or is there loctite between the guard and the case as well?

There shouldn't be any loctite on the guard to the case. But don't take my word for it. I think the chrono pushers are obstructing it somehow, wiggle the guard while simultaeneously pushing either or both the pushers?

It should come off easily once you got the screws out.. As far as I know there are only two screws, one visible, and one under the guard flip.

I think the previous owner must've put some adhesive inbetween b/c it just doesn't budge or even wiggle around the pushers. I'll just live with it until it needs to go in for service.
