Two for One

New to the forum and just bought two watches for my 40th birthday. Was looking at Rolex watches for the past years and decided that it would be now or never.I sent some quotes for the Explorer I 114270 and found one in Ottawa.A Toronto Jeweller was giving me a better price but didnt had it in stock and was waiting for the new 214270.Not really liking the new model I paid full price for the 114270 in Ottawa.I loved the watch but after 10 days I noticed a small imperfection on the dial.A pin point dot on the dial.Barely visible under the shade but shined under the sun.I brought the watch back and got the dial replaced under warranty. After 3 weeks and a few apologies,I got the watch back looking great.

A few week after, I contacted again the Toronto jeweller to see his price for a Submariner. He replied offering me 20% off on the classic 16610,he had one left in stock and put it on the side for me.Considering the watch was 300$ less than what I paid for the Explorer,I didnt hesitate and bought it.

I love both watches for different reasons. The Explorer I is a great everyday casual watch.I waited 2 months before telling anyone I had a Rolex because nobody noticed it.It's small and discrete and very confortable to wear. It's also very tough and precise.

The Submariner is a great classic watch and a must have for James Bond fans and watch lovers.I only wear it for special occasions because it's not as discrete and because of the much bigger Rolex lettering on the dial. Also the Submariner is a brick,it is by far the heaviest watch i ever owned. After a while i get used to it,but it's still a very heavy watch.

Hope you appreciated the story and I should be around this place on occasions.
