Depends on the price and if I can verify that it is authentic. Generally speaking no, because it would be dificult to re-sell.

If it's new then No, I can understand vintage ones not having their box & papers anymore but a brand new one def. should - can't think of a (legal) reason why it shouldn't.

NO!!! If it's brand new, I see no reason why the papers shouldn't come along with it.

When I buy a watch, it HAS to be brand new with all the bells and whistles that come with it.....only then do I consider it as BRAND SPANKING NEW!!!

I will not buy, there must be box, papers there should be country code on paper the letter indicating year and the serial number that matches with the serial number on the watch even I have no chance to open and check the new watch.

Yes I agree I would want to see the certificate/papers. No Rolex certificate/papers on a new watch is suspicious to me. You could see if the original AD the watch was purchased at has a copy of the certificate on file. If this is the case, it would be very easy to compare the serial number on the watch with what is on the copy of the certificate. My AD makes copies of all Rolex certificates/sales and holds them for several years. Why, I do not know, I was once told that the certificate photocopy is sent into Rolex USA for warrantee purposes. I do not know if this is true either, does anyone know if this is true or an urban legend?

Depends on price, But overall how much can you actually be saving if its brand new? Couple hundred at best... Your better off making a deal with an AD and having peace of mind

I agree with JJ. If its brand new from an AD, no reason why it shouldn't come with papers.

If pre-owned then there are a lot of ways to go about this.

1. Price
2. Seller
3. RSC verification of the piece
4. Vintage

depends on the discount.. if you're not a "flipper" & want to enjoy it then get it. if the watch is real who cares about papers. i never even look at mine. if i know its real thats all that matters.

Not only is it a point if you intend on selling it. I'd have to know the seller personally before I'd consider taking possesion of anything property without proof it's not stolen.
