Panerai Submersible and asked to make bezel ferrule

Hi chaps,

Just thought I'd show one of the Panerai projects I was asked to undertake.

I was sent the Panerai 300m Submersible and the chap requested a replacement bezel ferrule to be
machined and fitted the watch was then satin finished.

Bezel ferrule machined from 316L Stainless steel screw stub.

Bezel ferrule is then securely cemented in place.

Panerai finally satin finished minus the crown guard and lever.

Great job on the insert, but he took the polished bezel and made it satin! There are many people that would not be happy. I'm guessing that is a 24a/b with a polished bezel. That is part of the appeal of the a/b, and they demand higher premiums. He just lost some value on his watch, but hey it is his watch, so he can do whatever he wants.

What did you use to make the satin finish? Looks like a pro job.

re

Hi there,

Yep the guy requested the watch should have a satin finish and the satin finish was achieved by bead blasting.

The case and bezel could easily be repolished.

I guess that holds true - regarding easily polished.

Btw, I can't see clearly, but did you engrave the number 30 on the new marker you installed?
