Verfied Seller board?

could we get a verified seller sub board? I know people like tony david jacek ect are all great sellers and would be on this board and allow us or newcomers to know who is who and people they can trust.

There's a whole who's who section for that. Take some time and read the posts, you'll figure out who to buy from in no time!

Maybe if there is a thread with a simple count of the number of positive or negative transactions for each user would be nice to see. Sorry if this has been discussed already. Thank you.

This is a discussion forum first and foremost.

The forum is not and cannot be responsible for any private transactions which may take place between third parties.

It is impossible for the forum to 'verify' anyone for any period of time or for any transaction. It just isn't possible for the forum to verify private individuals from various locations around the world entering into various transactions.

Say a buyer receives the watch and then falsely claims he didn't receive it and seeks to falsely blame the forum for 'verifying a seller'. How can the forum know what happens in any given transaction, it is impossible.

There is an inherent risk in any transaction conducted over the internet. Buyers and sellers have to themselves assess and either accept or decline the risks.

There is no way the forum will put itself in a situation where a member says, "I didn't get my watch, and you (the forum) warranted that this seller was a 'verified seller'! You (the forum) are responsible for my loss as I relied upon your verification and as a result suffered loss and damage."

Third parties have the privilege (not the right) to sell on this website. It is a free privilege. In exercising that privilege members can enter into private transactions with other members, it is not their right or entitlement to do so, but is a matter between him/her and the other third party to the transaction. This website is/has no involvement in that private transaction.

The notion of 'verified sellers' connotes of some kind of validation of the seller or insurance to the buyer warranted by the forum to a buyer or potential buyer. If you want that kind of comfort then the forum would want to charge potential buyers for that type of service being extended to them. The charge would be the full value of the watch they intend to purchase. This is because if this website is potentially going to be liable for any seller's failure to fulfil a transaction to a buyer, the forum would want the buyer to pay upfront the amount they are potentially going to lose. Somehow I don't think the potential buyer is going to pay 2X the value of the watch (1x to the seller and 1x to the forum).

So no I'm sorry the policy of the forum will stay the way it is and has always been for the last 5 years i.e. no forum endorsement/verification/validation of any seller or any transaction shall occur.

Having said that, please note that there are by and large many honest and reputable sellers on this website.

At the end of the day if in doubt....................don't.

See also the sticky thread http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=49308
Which states the Who'sWho policy of statements made in that forum.
