Newbie Tudor Sub man

Another newbie here, and a keen tudor sub man. Currently looking for an auto wind for my Tudor sub 7928, 1961 movement as shown, parts for this 390 movement are very hard to find!

Any leads anyone, thanks Phil.

Early Tudor Submariners are fitted with the Rolex own cal.390 movement. Now what is exactly wrong with your movement, these older Tudor Subs are now getting quite collectable.Although the Cal 390 was put into the cheaper range of watches its still a very fine movement. And if I remember correct the movement was based on a 12.5ligne ebauche by Fontmelon FHF,and quite a unusual size.I am not 100% sure and believe the same movement was used in the early Tudor Prince. Its a pity yours was not a later ETA powered one then parts would not be a problem. But parts can be made, and it would be great to get your back working with the correct engine. But parts now for the 390 very very hard to find indeed

Hi Padi, yes, another Rolex friend told me that the early
Tudor Prince had the same movement, so I have a search linked up on the bay just in case one pops up. According to my watchmaker who just overhauled it, there is a damaged wheel which has something to do with the Auto wind and which causes the manual wind not to function as well. He did offer to remove this part of the movement so I could just have it as a manual wind, bur I declined at this stage, it would have been nice to have had it running, but just not the same, and knowing the way I operate, I would have lost the removed parts, which would have been even worse in the long run!!
