From Northern California, Greetings Thanks & Questions
It's been said before, but this community is an amazing compendium of knowledge and camaraderie and I'm all the more interested in a Rolex having read through a truly ridiculous amount of the shared insights and experiences.
I've become enamored of the Submariner and have found a potential piece that I believe to be legitimate but would proffer to your more experienced eyes. It's a 14060, the seller (local) claims to be from the 'N' series and there is my first question, wasn't that from '91? (ref: http://watchmakingblog.com/rolex-serial-registry/) Also, in other pictures of the dial (non-COSC) I've noted the subtext to read 'SWISS MADE'; this one has 'SWISS - T<25' (which of course appears on other series' dials). Otherwise I've not noted any potential snags. No original Rolex papers/box, but appraisal and receipt from jewelry store. Besides being not as helpful for resale, I don't believe this to be a deal-breaker. I greatly appreciate any input you might have, enjoy your respective weekends! |

What is the sellers asking price?
Best safest way to check legitimacy is going to a AD who has a rolex watchmaker and having them open it AND check it out |

yes teh end of 91 ( november i think) nice watch, i reckon without B&P $2700 i have seen. BUT does this come with warranty? thats worth a bit. Anyway if you are happy and its there to be bought ( no wiating searching etc) then go for it and enjoy.

Good point toph, seller's being a little recalcitrant on the AD front so I'm taking my time dealing. Got him down to $2600, that was fun. And with some more poking around I've found another 14060 (T series I think) that had the same 'Swiss - t<25' writing, so I'm less concerned about that issue.
Thanks for the welcome all. |
