Randy's New GMT II woweeeeee!!!!!!!!!

I couldnt wait, I came home same day, had to take pics...AD says all updates made to this watch will be on the Steel and Two Tone subs and steel sea dweller...no more colored bezels on gmt as ceramics and colors dont mix...that is what he said, we shall see..we all know how full of it AD's can be, he seemed pretty sure about this (this could be old news here, I havent been plugged in for a while)..

I love this watch! I am wondering how you adjust the bracelet without adding or taking off links, i have one link removed and wonder how you can make it slightly bigger...i cant believe the improvements, i just stare at it

wow, what can I say...the improvements are amazing, simply amazing, cant take my eyes off of it...

Oh, yeah, i got a 22% discount, not sure why, I have bought a few there, I think it is because he knows the new subs are coming anyday now and he expects those to get all the attention...

bracelet adjust....

I had to adjust mine. flip over the watch. On the back of the clasp there are three adjustments to the pin that holds in the bracelet. Open the expansion part and hold the bracelet out and you will see them. I had to wear my glasses. I also had to use a burgeon tool. I was able to use the farthest so as not to remove a link.

Good luck it's an awesome timepiece.

Congrats Randy! I had one of those on recently and it is truly amazing!!!
I didn't look that closely, but isn't the clasp the same as on the daytona? If so there should be a couple fine adjustment notches for the bracelet.

I've heard the same thing about ceramic and color, just have to wait and see.
If they do those improvements to the SD--LOOK OUT!! Man, the line will go on forever to land one of those!!

Lets just say Rolex are having difficulties with two colour ceramic bezel inserts
(it is very difficult to bond/connect ceramics together)
so its not inconceiveable that for the moment anyway, one colour inserts may be the only option.

my AD told me the SD, Sub and GMT will all have the same bezels (ceramic) and crowns and dials (big dots) etc.

i see that somewhere here a RSC employee said that Rolex rolls out new models Gold first, then steel and gold and then steel, one year after the other...if that is the case, expect to see a radically different GMT steel in a few weeks...

makes no sense they would make those changes to the GMT only and leave the sub and sd with the old dials and bezel, so it makes sense when you think about it...

i really believe the only question is when, will it take 3 more years? he didnt think so.

the clasps are similar but not identical.....

they both have the quick adjustment feature and 3 minor adjustment positions....

the locking mechanism is different though....

Thanks, Ohlins...very interesting.

The main difference I think lies in the NOTCH on that link. In the Daytona, the NOTCH is on a flat link....whereas on the GMT-II the NOTCH is on one of the solid gold links.

Still not very sure how the system works, but I know that the mirco-adjustments for both are via 3 concealed holes inside the clasp.
