do I need to go back to my AD

as we know good ADs are hit and miss, mine was "ok" but she made a mess of the sale from start to finish and as this was my first proper watch I gave her a bit of leeway,I won't go into the whole story, nothing major she was just not on top of things and I found myself correcting a few of her mistakes etc but the main thing was she could not find the correct box that my Pam 111 came out off so after looking for 5mins came back with another box and told me it wasn't the correct box but was the "same" as the one mine came in,I asked would it be possible for anyone to tell that it wasn't the correct box,she said no it would be impossible,so I of course ask why she told me it wasn't the correct box,if it was the same,ok it was good of her to say but it just made me think why would she make a point of telling me,so now I'm left with the feeling I either have the incorrect box and that will affect value if I ever sell or that I'm missing the correct papers/stuff,I know I'm missing the bezal guard, not sure if anything else,so I'll list the stuff I have if anyone wants to check to see if I have everything or missing stuff, cheers

3 boxes but the main box with 2 tools, seen some pics of 111 with just 1 tool?should I have the 2 tool box?

rubber strap

Panerai booklet

guranttee card

controle officiel suisse des chronometes (guess that the cosc?) is this not linked to the watch it came with?

sorry for the long post, cheers for any help.

Does the sticker on the box match your cosc movement and the serial number on the back of your watch?

The sticker will be "Mvt". That should match your COSC
The sticker will also have "Ind". That should match serial number on back of watch.

Only tool with 111 is a screwdriver.
The 111 comes with two straps. A brown calf leather and a rubber strap.

Also, you should have a dated warranty card and the manual.

thanks mfer for taking the time for this,I guess the box is not right then as I have both black and silver tool box?,on what seems to be the cosc(it's in swiss german i guess) the two numbers on that paper don't seem to match up with any number on the watch? I think the box is missing any id to the watch as it only has a top sticker and no side info on the front side as I have seen others have,

what are the two numbers on the cosc? one has 9 numbers and the other 6

I'm mad now as I specifically asked asked about the 233 number and she said all the boxes come with that on them, guess I'm ringing in the morning,do you guys consider this reason to contact the AD? and if so what should I be asking for to fix this?

No, it does not mean the box is for PAM233. I have a couple of boxes for my PAMs that says 'pam233' like yours but none of the watches are a 233.

But your box is definitely incorrect (at least the wooden box) as you should only have a screw-driver with your 111.

Make sure your COSC matches the sticker on the brown outer box too

the only sticker on the brown outer box is the one I have posted above,no other stickers,so I'm wondering how you would know the cosc certificate is for my watch?

The sticker is very very important. Return the watch entirely if they cannot flyer the paperwork correct immediately! I would be irate.

You need to have something similar to this package for a 005...the main thing is you need that sticker on the outer brown box (called a movement sticker)...the info on that sticker should match the numbers on the back of your 111...

good luck..the complete package will be key in panerai resale...

thanks that helps a lot,I'm very mad now as I asked over and over again if it was the correct box and she said she was sure it was the same,I should have not trusted her after she tried to tell me the rubber strap didn't come with the watch, she asured me 100% it didn't come with one but I knew it did so I asked her to please check so she took out a Panerai brochure and seat there and read it then said oh yeah it does!!!

I Don't recall the wooden box for my PAM312 having any stickers on it at all.

Bought from an AD, should this be cause for concern?

Sorry, I fat fingered that. Damn iPhone autocorrect.

If they cannot "figure" out the paperwork, return the watch. The value on the secondary market would take a significant hit.

Let me try and get you an example of the matching documents.

Well, I can't find any good examples, so I'll try and take some pics tonight and show how the Panerai documentation works for the UNITAS movements (both cosc and non-cosc).

Still, if I were you, return the watch if they cannot get you the correct triple box set, correct movement sticker, correct COSC certificate.

Cheers, spoken with the ad today, she spoke with panerai and said they say the outer box is not important!she then said she would get a new box and new papers to me,I said I wasn't happy with that as the new papers would not be the cosc related papers,I told her the out come I wanted was a new watch, she said she would talk to panerai again but rang back to say they were closed,so after more talking,me telling her about cosc and that the correct paper work means something she agreed to ok the new watch!so a sort of result but now maybe a long wait, but this way I have a watch I don't mind looking at.

She sounds full of it. She said she spoke to panerai and the outer box isn't important and then she said panerai is closed today? So, how did she speak to panerai if they were closed.

Now it is true, that the outer cardboard box isn't important depending on your country, but it looks like UK gets the outer box as they attempted to give you a 233 box!

At a minimum, you need that movement sticker and the cosc certificate. I agree with you that since you are paying the AD premium, you should get the AD experience, which means a pleasant time and all the trimmings. If you aren't getting that, you might as well buy "grey" or used. There are plenty of 111's out there. Good luck!

I agree,I feel a little unjustified in asking for a new replacement but I can't see how they could correct this without a replacement, as it seems they no longer have the correct box and cosc thats goes with my watch, the AD also said I'll get a extra strap for my trouble,I have thanked the AD for the way they are handling this.

Now that is the AD experience! So, do you get to pick the strap you want? If so, get a gator. The Panerai OEM gators are great. JV's resell high but I think the black with ecru stitch looks money.

yeah mate, she let me pick from the whole selection when I first purchased the watch, so I think it'll be the same again,I got the black croc with white stitching first time round, might get the same again as those croc straps are cool.

Sorry m8! You'll have it soon. With all the proper paperwork and a great new gator strap. Remember the hunt is half the fun. So, what is you next Panerai??? I really like the 210...

Glad it all worked out well in the end. That's a great classic Pam. The cardboard box for my 292 had that same stupid 233 sticker on it. Made me scratch my head too.

Thanks,I've just checked, the new box doesn't have the 233 sticker this time but does have the movement sticker on the outside box and also the same movement sticker inside, this has tought me to in future to ask for a non display model to be ordered in for me,it might mean a bit of a wait and might sound a bit sad but having the box openned up with the watch still in place with all the stickers made a big difference to me.
