Confusing 16610LV

Check out this LV. He says its an M serial, but between the lugs it says V. Maybe an oversight no big deal, however look the rehault is not engraved, I thought this started mid z........?

I'm confused, too!

The watch is a 16610T, from the photos. Larry (Tools) discusses this model numbering (the 3rd post down, as I recall) in the thread noted below:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=112478

Not sure why is does not say 16610V....unless it has been modified to make it into a 16610V look-a-like.....

I will defer to more knowledgeable members, and stand by to be educated!

Love TRF!!

(and now, after looking at the following, I am even mooooore confused:

The serial number is an "M", the vertical legs of the M are hard to see because of the lighting.

You're right the 16610LV is confusing.

The 16610 T is correct for a non-lug hole case LV. Some early M serial LVs did not have engraved Rehauts. Matthew Bain, Inc is a highly reputable and well known Florida watch dealer. Please note: the watch doles not have box & papers, but it appears OK.

I'm better now!

Larry straightened me out with a little tutorial!

Thank you, Larry and TRF for always being willing to educate!
